10 New Christmas Books I’m Recommending for 2022 is a celebration of the holiday books I loved reading this year. Many of you may know that Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year and as an avid reader I love reading books set at this time.
In August I posted my 15 Books of Christmas 2022 Reading Challenge and have included Christmas books in my reading since that time. I appreciate that not everyone has the desire or the time to read a lot of Christmas books and so I’m providing you with my list of my favourites that published in 2022. Snowed in For Christmas is a captivating story of family and romance that will keep you warm this holiday season. I enjoyed:
- The cozy Christmas setting
- The highly likeable and charming characters
- The slow-build romance
Christmas at Red Robin Cottage is a charming holiday romance novel perfect for creating that cozy feeling this holiday season. I enjoyed:
- The cozy Christmas feels felt throughout the book
- The romance between Sarah and Luke
- The highly likeable and relatable characters
Holiday Romance is a fun romance about two people who travel together from Chicago to Dublin each year over the course of a decade. I enjoyed:
- The alternating then and now time frames
- The ability to observe this relationship grown over the course of a decade
- The emphasis on family within a romance novel
A Christmas House Wedding is a lovely story involving a Grandmother marrying on Christmas Eve, and her single-parent Granddaughter restarting her life. I enjoyed:
- The love shown between multi-generations of family
- The developing romance between Olivia and Scott
- The Christmas setting complete with snow and holiday activities.
A White Christmas on Winter Street is a festive read I’ll be recommending to everyone. I enjoyed:
- The festive feel throughout the book
- The backstories and development of the characters
- The message of over-coming challenges to build the life you want.
If you’re looking for a steamy romantic comedy to read this holiday season, look now further. A Merry Little Meet Cute checks all the boxes and more. I enjoyed:
- The theme of acceptance
- The thought-provoking and candid discussion
- The very confident, plus-sized protagonist
The Christmas Wish is a time loop story that has a London woman visiting her family in their countryside home. I enjoyed:
- The lovable protagonist that you can’t help but cheer on
- The imaginative and well-executed use of the time loop
- The flashbacks to Gwen’s childhood contributing to a satisfying romance
Home Sweet Christmas is lovely holiday read with plenty of traditions and romance. It is a joyful, entertaining read. I enjoyed:
- The festive feel to the book with plenty of holiday activities
- The character development and backstories
- The two romances that are featured in the book
The Road to Christmas is an amusing story of three generations of a family who are taking separate Christmas road trips to visit the same out of state relative. I enjoyed:
- The author’s ability to write three separate, entertaining storylines
- The reality of senior moments included in the story
- The family love evident in the story
The Christmas Spirit is a fun look at two men who swap their usual occupations and bartender and pastor for the week prior to Christmas. I enjoyed:
- The key messages in the book
- The use of humour throughout the book
- The way the story is communicated from Grandmother to her Grandchildren
So there you have it! 10 New Christmas Books I’m Recommending for 2022. I’m not finished reading my holiday books this year so keep your eye out for more reviews to come!
