Welcome to my 2024 – My Year In Review! The New Year will soon be here so I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my 2024 in books.
Goodreads:
Goodreads is a great resource for collecting information about reading habits in the course of a year. Here’s some interesting reading about 2024 gleamed from this resource:
- I read or listened to 112 books
- My average book length was 309 pages
- My shortest book read was The Situationship by Abby Jimenez (at 37 pages too short to review)
- My longest book read was The Women by Kristin Hannah
- My most popular book as defined by the number of people who also shelved a book on Goodreads was The Women by Kristin Hannah.
- My average Goodreads rating was 4.4 (I know what I like to read). This is the same as last year.
- My highest rated read on Goodreads was Widows Waive the Rules by Julia Jarman with a 4.75 Goodreads rating. Look for my published review coming January 9.
WordPress:
WordPress also provided me with some interesting information:
My readers came from 166 different countries! This blows me away! Thank you all for your support!
The book that brought the most views to my blog (for reviews already published) was my book review of First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston.
The feature that brought the most views to my blog was Celebrity Book Club Picks for January 2024.
I Read Books By These Authors More Than Any Others:
I read four books from each of Viola Shipman, Cara Bastone and Pamela Kelley.
Are You Wondering What My Favourite Books Were in 2024?
Check out my post My Favourite Books in 2024.
Thank You!
So there you have it! 2024 – My Year in Review. I appreciate all the support I’ve received in 2024. It warms my heart to read in my blog comments that many of you are discovering new books based on my reviews and features. A special shout out to those of you who have subscribed to my blog. Publishers look at stats such as the number of subscribers a blog has when determining whether or not to approve a book so when you subscribe it gives me access to some great books.
I wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Successful 2025!

Thanks for sharing, Jodie💜 I find all of it interesting and insightful. Like you, I have a high average rating because I’m careful about what I choose to read.

I really enjoyed this post, Jodie! I love that Goodreads breaks down the books we’ve read and it’s cool to see the stats at end of the year. Congratulations on reaching all of your reading goals and for reaching so many around the world. I’m looking forward to more in 2025. Happy New Year!

You had a great 2024 in books, Jodie. I usually rate books 4 or above as well, as I usually choose well, but once in awhile something slips through. I hope your 2025 in books is just as wonderful or better.
