A White Christmas on Winter Street is a festive read I’ll be recommending to everyone. I absolutely loved it.

From The Publisher:
When Sky Terran returns to the village of Middledip after losing the job she loves, she anticipates a quiet Christmas getting used to her new life. However, the annual street decoration competition is coming up and this year, the residents of Winter Street are determined to win.
As she is pulled into the preparations, Sky quickly grows to love the quirky, tight-knit community she is now part of. Including the extremely handsome Daz, who soon becomes more than just a friendly neighbour.
But when Daz’s ex turns up determined to win him back and it seems he might not be the man Sky thought he was, she remembers how much allowing people into her life – and heart – can hurt. As the snow falls, will she and Daz find a way through – and help win a Christmas victory for Winter Street?
A gorgeously festive novel about love, family and the power of forgiveness from Sunday Times bestseller Sue Moorcroft, perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan and Phillipa Ashley
My Thoughts:
I loved the storyline and festive feel throughout this book. Sky Terran’s backstory is a sad one as she was parented by a drug and alcohol- addicted single parent. The one bright light in her childhood was coming to stay with her foster mother in Middledip. It was here that she was introduced to Freddy, a foster child who became more like a brother to her. That is, until a recent falling out changed everything.
Now back in Middledip in a house that Sky purchased at auction, she determined to not only restore this home back to its former glory but also to make a point of shedding her workaholic lifestyle. The holiday season is already in full swing and the pressures of living in a close-knit community soon have Sky making friends and accepting help more than at any other time in her life. As happy as she is in her new home and community, she wishes to resume the relationship she once had with her foster brother.
She meets Daz at the auction where she made the purchase of the house – he was also bidding on the house. Despite his disappointment in losing the house to Sky, the two soon begin a friendship and then a relationship. Daz’s own backstory is well-written and meaningful. When Daz’s ex turns up in town, the relationship becomes strained and communication breaks down. Now the two most important men in Sky’s life are no longer part of her life.
I loved the festive feel of this book. There is plenty of neighbourhood activities, and Sky’s love of nature and the environment comes through strongly. There is a cast of supporting characters which are well-developed with their own interesting backstories. Wilf, a child in the book, is currently experiencing challenges that Sky can relate to. I loved the relationship that develops between the two of them.
A White Christmas on Winter Street is now one of my favourite holiday reads and one I will return to over the years. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys holiday reads.
What I Liked:
- The festive feel throughout the book
- The backstories and development of the characters
- The message of over-coming challenges to build the life you want.

It would make a great movie although it’s more General Fiction than Romance.

Great review Jodie. I love when a story has more than just a light Christmas story, but adds in real challenges and histories that give the book more meat. That is one thing I have enjoyed about Sue Moorcroft’s books in the past.
