Amidst breathtaking scenery, the friends must confront the past to embrace their futures.
My Thoughts:
Jennifer Probst delivers another captivating novel with A Wedding in Lake Como, a heartfelt story about friendship, love, and the choices that shape our lives. Set against the stunning backdrop of Italy’s Lake Como, this book brings together three best friends—Ava, Madison, and Chelsea—who reunite for a wedding that could either mend old wounds or confirm their estrangement for good.
One of the things I love about this book (and the series in general) is how it can be read as a standalone while still capturing the magic of its Italian setting. The narrative jumps between two time periods—Ava, Madison, and Chelsea’s college years in New York and their lives five years later in Lake Como—giving readers a deep understanding of how their past decisions ripple into the present. Much of the story focuses on Ava and Madison, whose vastly different upbringings shape their views on success, love, and loyalty. Ava, raised in privilege between New York and Lake Como, believes career should always come first—a philosophy that deeply influences Madison, who grew up feeling unwanted and has worked tirelessly to build a name for herself. Madison’s romance with Riggs is one of the book’s emotional anchors, highlighting the tension between ambition and love.
As the story unfolds, past betrayals and heartbreak resurface, testing not only romantic relationships but also the bond between these women. I found it fascinating to see how they evolve over the years, striving to create the lives they truly want rather than the ones they once envisioned. And, of course, the Lake Como setting is breathtaking—I’ve been lucky enough to visit, and Probst captures its charm beautifully.
Final Thoughts:
A Wedding in Lake Como is as much about friendship as it is about romance, and that’s what makes it such a compelling read. I’m already looking forward to the next book in this series!
