Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the Jill at Breaking the Spine. So let me introduce you my Can’t Wait Wednesday #22 pick!
From The Publisher:
When Alec asks Jess out, she knows it won’t work. Is Alec charming? Of course. Attractive? Definitely. Can she not stop thinking about him…yes, but that’s also the problem. Because Jess has rules. And the first? Don’t fall in love.
What no one knows is that Jess has inherited Huntington’s disease from the mother that she cares for. And while witnessing her own future play out, Jess has learnt to keep everyone and everything at arm’s length. But Alec is determined to break down those barriers. When she finally tells him why they have no future, he proposes a different option—just one month together.
One month to date. One month to live. One month to fall in love.
But as Jess grows closer to Alec, she knows she has to end it. It’s better that he is hurt now rather than heartbroken later, isn’t it?
Why I Can’t Wait to Read One Month of You:
This sounds like an emotional read but I’m curious to see if Jess will allow Alec into her life beyond the one month. As a nurse, I like to learn more about the impact of chronic, terminal disease on the individual and family. This book presently has a 4.09 rating on nearly 100 reviews which suggests it will be a good read.
Does this book sound like one you’d like to read? Or, have you been lucky enough to have already read it? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading Amanda!
Stephanie Whitman
Oh boy, this sounds like a major tear-jerker. It’s been a long time since I’ve allowed myself a sick-lit novel because they tend to make me sob uncontrollably and then I want to toss the book at a wall. Of course, they also usually make me fall head over heels (here’s looking at you, The Fault in Our Stars). Maybe I’ll pick this one up this year!

I’m reading this one slowly Stephanie because of the subject matter and enjoying it very much so far (about 2/3 the way through). Thanks for reading!
Geoff Kidd
That sounds like quite the rollercoaster. Definitely looking for some new reading material for 2023 tho.

This doesn’t sound like something I’d typically get into but having read this little bit about it, I do find myself wanting to know what happens with Jess and her condition/romance!
