Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the Jill at Breaking the Spine. So let me introduce you my Can’t Wait Wednesday #79 pick! Click on the book’s cover to add it to your Goodreads shelf.
From The Publisher:
A captivating memoir that tells the story of one woman’s experience of joining a community of army wives after leaving her New York City job—a profoundly intimate look at marriage, friendship, and today’s America.
When her new husband joins an elite Army unit, Simone Gorrindo is uprooted from New York City and dropped into Columbus, Georgia—a town so foreign she might as well have landed on the moon. With her husband frequently deployed, Simone is left to find her place in this new world, alone—until she meets the wives.
Gorrindo gives us an intimate look into the inner lives of a remarkable group of women and a tender, unflinching portrait of a marriage. A love story, an unforgettable coming-of-age tale, and a bracing tour of the intractable divisions that plague our country today, The Wives offers a rare and powerful gift: a hopeful stitch in the fabric of a torn America.
Why I’m Excited to Read The Wives:
I love a story of friendship and the relationships that form out of a common need. I also appreciate the sacrifices women make every day to support their husbands and look forward to reading about Simone’s transition to life as an army wife in a new city.

My Dad was career Army and we actually lived at Fort Benning, Georgia for a year. There’s nothing like the bonds formed between military families. Excellent choice, Jodie💜

This does sound like it will be good. My mom was a military wife and although my dad didn’t go away for long periods of time, moving around frequently and having to constantly adapt to new people and places brought its own challenges. I hope you enjoy The Wives when you read it, Jodie!

That must have been so challenging. Thank you LF.
