Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club (Hello Sunshine)’s pick for March 2025:
Founded in 2017, Hello Sunshine always chooses books with women at the centre of the story. Their website notes “We make our choices thoughtfully and look for ways to deepen our connection to books, authors and ourselves”.  This book club chose “Broken Country” by Clare Leslie Hall as their March 2025 pick.
Summary:
Beth and her devoted husband, Frank, have built a happy life together, but their past remains a fragile foundation. When Beth’s brother-in-law shoots a dog threatening their sheep, the act unknowingly sets off a chain of events that will upend their lives. The dog belonged to Gabriel Wolfe—Beth’s first love, the man who broke her heart, and now a father to young Leo, a boy who reminds Beth of her own lost son. As Gabriel’s return stirs old emotions, tensions rise in the village, unearthing dangerous secrets and jealousies that threaten to turn deadly. Forced to confront the past, Beth must choose between the woman she once was and the life she has built. Blending sweeping romance with the tension of a thriller, Broken Country is a gripping novel about first love’s lasting impact, impossible choices, and the explosive consequences of buried truths.
Good Morning America’s Book Club’s pick:
The GMA Book Club is officially called “Cover to Cover” and was started in the Fall of 2019. Their selections highlight diversity and books are chosen from both fiction and non-fiction genres. The book club chose “Count My Lies” by Sophie Stava as their March 2025 pick.
Summary:
Sloane Caraway is no stranger to lying—mostly harmless ones to make her dull life more interesting. But when she impulsively tells a distraught father that she’s a nurse while helping his daughter, one small lie lands her a job as a nanny for the wealthy and seemingly perfect Lockhart family. Jay and Violet have it all—a New York brownstone, a daughter in private school, and idyllic summers on Block Island—but as Sloane settles into their world, she realizes she isn’t the only one keeping secrets. In Count My Lies, Sophie Stava delivers a sharp, fast-paced thriller where deception builds upon deception, creating a tangled web of truths and dangers lurking just beneath the surface.
Read With Jenna (Jenna Bush Hager)’s pick:
In March 2019, the former First Daughter announced her book club on the Today show.  Each month she chooses a book that is sure to generate discussion.  Jenna chose “The Dream Hotel” by Laila Lalami as her March 2025 pick.
Summary:
When Sara lands at LAX after a conference abroad, she is intercepted by agents from the Risk Assessment Administration, who inform her that their algorithm—based on her dreams—has determined she will soon harm her husband. For his safety, she is detained for a mandatory twenty-one-day observation period at a mysterious retention center, where women accused of future crimes struggle to prove their innocence. But as the facility’s rules shift and their stays are extended indefinitely, Sara realizes she may never be released. When a new resident disrupts the fragile order, Sara is drawn into a fight against the very corporations that have stolen her freedom. Eerie and thought-provoking, The Dream Hotel is a chilling exploration of surveillance, privacy, and the dangerous grip of technology on our lives.
Oprah’s Book Club:
Oprah Winfrey started this book club in 1996 as a segment on her TV show. Many obscure titles have risen to bestseller status as a result of her picks. Oprah’s latest pick is “Dream State” by Eric Puchner.
Summary:
Eric Puchner’s Dream State is a sweeping multigenerational novel about love, betrayal, and the inescapable patterns of family. Cece arrives at her in-laws’ Montana lake house to finalize wedding plans with Charlie, a promising medical student, but doubts creep in as she spends time with his cynical best friend, Garrett. When she ultimately leaves Charlie for Garrett, the fallout reshapes their lives for decades. Years later, Cece’s daughter, Lana, and Charlie’s son, Jasper, form a deep bond, only to find themselves repeating their parents’ mistakes. With tenderness and insight, Dream State explores the fragility of love, the weight of the past, and the ways we wrestle with fate and impermanence.
