I love books set in small beach communities, so when I had the opportunity to read Coming Home to Seashell Harbor I grabbed the chance to bring home some summer vibes. This is the first book in the author’s Seashell Harbor series and published on May 4/21.
Plot Summary
Hadley Wells returns home to the quaint Victorian town of Seashell Harbor after spending an extended period of time working and living in Los Angeles. It wasn’t a planned trip home but one her employer insisted on after her very public break up with an A-list actor. It really wasn’t that difficult for Hadley to leave LA, as Seashell Harbor holds many wonderful memories spent with her beloved Grandmother and her dog boarding business, her workaholic parents and friends. In fact, the only person she hopes she doesn’t run into is her high school boyfriend Tony Cammareri. Hadley hasn’t forgotten that he broke up with her by post-it note before he left for a college and an eventual pro football career. Left with a career ending injury, Tony (Cam) is now back in Seashell Harbor to rebuild his life. As the two are thrown together to work on community projects, will the feelings that Hadley and Tony once felt for each other return?
Book Review
I found this to be a charming, feel good read. The descriptions of this beach town provide not only a great backdrop for an engaging story full of likeable characters, but also sets the stage for additional books in the series. The introduction of memories into the story enables the reader to get a good sense of where the relationship had once been – a must for any second-chance romance.
As a dog lover, the stories involving the care of dog rescues were both informative and enjoyable. The shared love of dogs between Hadley and her Grandmother was heartwarming. I look forward to reading the next books in this series.
What I Liked About Coming Home to Seashell Harbor:
- The charming Victorian town setting
- The highly likeable characters
- The use of a dog rescue to connect characters

I’ve read every genre but lately am only restricting to one or two. Liked ur writing style as usual. It seemed you ended the last line of the plot with an intermission. Xx

As you say yourself, sounds like a real ‘feel good’ read. I live the idea of the setting as well. Sounds like so many places I’ve been before.

I love books around small communities, whether they be beach coves, English villages, or mountain towns, so Seashell Harbor sounds like the book for me! I love that it has a Victorian setting and the promise of a woman coming back to a town, like all small towns, that remembers.
