Falling Stars is a wonderful holiday romance between a ski instructor and the movie star she is training. I love the family elements of the story!

From The Publisher:
Emily Ammerman has always felt at home amid the ski runs and slopes of Snowdrift Summit, the Colorado resort her family has operated for decades. Snow is her element, and she doesn’t hesitate when a new client asks her to train him to ski The Plunge, one of Colorado’s most treacherous runs.
But Zach Ryder is no regular client. On screen, he’s famous for starring as a daring CIA officer who always saves the day. In real life, he’s just as handsome and charming as his alter ego, though not everyone is impressed. Some are concerned about what kind of impact these slick, showbiz types will have on their town.
As for Emily—she’s got a secret, and it’s one she can’t reveal to anyone, especially not to Zach: she’s his biggest fan. But she’s also a professional. She’ll train him till he’s ready to tackle any slope, but she won’t fall in love with him, the way so many others have.
Still, not everything in life can be planned, and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t help but fall . . .
My Thoughts:
Christmas magic is alive in Fern Michael’s latest holiday read. Emily is a twenty-something ski instructor working at her parent’s ski resort. When Hollywood star Zach comes to town to make his latest movie, he hires Emily to teach him how to perform the ski stunts necessary for his movie.
What Zach doesn’t know is that Emily has been a big fan of him and his movies for years. She is pleased to see that Zach is just a normal guy and not one that boasts about his celebrity. What starts as friendship soon develops into romance.
The story is also one of family as the two families are introduced to one another and a backstory involving Emily’s father. There are plenty of holiday activities in this book with characters that are all charming and highly likeable.
I listened to the audiobook version of Falling Stars which was performed by one of my favourite narrators, Susan Bennett. Her pleasant, easy to listen to performance is perfect for this book. I would not hesitate to recommend the audiobook to those that appreciate this format.
I recommend Falling Stars to those readers who enjoy Romance or Women’s Fiction.
What I Liked:
- The sweet romance storyline
- The ski resort setting
- The holiday activities
