Hi everyone! I was first introduced to Sophie Cousens’ books last year when I read This Time Next Year. Just Haven’t Met You Yet is her most recent book and tells the story of a woman who mistakenly picks up a man’s suitcase as her own and falls in love with him based on its contents. This book is available now.
From The Publisher:
Laura’s business trip to the Channel Islands isn’t exactly off to a great start. After unceremoniously dumping everything in her bag in front of the most attractive man she’s ever seen in real life, she arrives at her hotel only to realize she’s grabbed the wrong suitcase from the airport. Her only consolation? The irresistibly appealing contents of the case: a copy of her favorite book; piano music; and a rugged, heavy knit fisherman sweater only a Ryan Gosling lookalike could pull off. The owner of this suitcase is Laura’s dream man–she’s sure of it. Now, all she has to do is find him.
The mix-up seems written in the stars. After all, what are the odds that she’d find The One on the same remote island where her mom and dad had first fallen in love, especially as she sets out to write an article about their epic romance? Commissioning surly cab driver Ted to ferry her around seems like her best bet in both tracking down the mystery suitcase owner and retracing her parents’ footsteps. And if beneath Ted’s gruffness lies a wit that makes their cab rides strangely entertaining, so much the better. But as Laura’s long-lost luggage soulmate proves difficult to find–and as she realizes that the love story she’s held on a pedestal all her life might not have been that perfect–she’ll have to rethink her whole outlook on love to discover what she really wants.
Book Review:
I really enjoyed Just Haven’t Met You Yet. The story is entertaining, well-paced and easy to read. I loved the fact that although this trip was work-related it was one that changed Laura’s life in a matter of a few days.
Laura searches for her mystery man trying to find out as much information as she can. At the same time, she hires Ted the cab driver to show her firsthand all the romantic locations on the islands, retracing through photos the summer her parents met.
Laura has began to know Ted and his family quite well when she solves the mystery of the suitcase man. He seems to be everything that she believed him to be. But relationships are not always black and white. When visiting family on the islands, she soon learns that even those that she trusted the most don’t always tell the truth.
There is so much happening in this book, yet it is well executed and easy to follow. I felt I knew Laura well, and it was interesting to see how a matter of a few days can change everything you’ve come to believe – and more. If you enjoy Women’s Fiction and Romance, Just Haven’t Met You Yet is for you.

I usually get put off by multiple story lines as I’ve found they aren’t always developed well but this sounds like it actually does well with it. I like the sound of this!

This sounds like one of the most exciting premises I have encountered and I love that it lives up to its promise. Falling in love with a man based off his suitcase is quite something to do, but it sets up a fun and unique storyline.
