My Week:
Once summer finally started here in Vancouver it came with a vengeance! Our temperatures are in the low to mid-thirties every day which for me limits any activities outside after noon each day. I’ve been walking and spending time on the patio each morning and love to see nature in all it’s glory. The hummingbirds are plentiful right now and I captured one feeding on the crocosmia this week.

What I’m Watching:
I’m looking forward to watching the movie ”Dating Season” on Netflix when it releases August 4. I love a good fake dating trope and appreciate the multicultural aspect of this romance. Here’s the trailer:

You’ve got to love hummingbirds. As much as I love nature , I unfortunately told some of the residents in my building that they have to stop throwing peanuts to all the squirrels outside because they’re bringing along with them mice…and I hate seeing mice in my apartment. it’s sad but true. Hope your week is great.

I can definitely see that being a problem too Trin. We don’t have any bird feeders but for the hummingbirds for this same reason. Thank you for reading and for your comment!

Your reads look ideal for summer. Love that cover on The Getaway.
Sorry it’s been so hot there. You probably don’t have a lot of air conditioning either. But your crocosmia is amazing…and look at that hummingbird. Wow.
I wonder if I’d like The Wedding Season.

Thanks Deb! No we have central air as do many now in Vancouver. Our summers are much hotter now than they once were and with a 2 story home with bedrooms upstairs it’s a necessity now to be able to sleep.

The American Roommate Experiment is on my TBR. Yeah, we have had the heat down here too. We actually had a cooler week this past one, but it is going to be triple digits here again this week, yuck! Hope you have a good week!

Hi there Jodie!
Oh all your books make me long for summer! We really had a terribly cold weekend. I did some reading, but the puppy just wants to play all the time. Of course I do just that….
Have a good week ahead and happy reading.

Thank you JoAnn! The coming week does indeed look cooler.
Anne - Books of My Heart
I’m glad you can enjoy the outdoors and are keeping cool. Since we are not early risers, we tend to go out after dinner. Thankfully by September it will be better usually.

Thanks for reading Anne. We are early risers so enjoy long mornings outside thankfully.
Greg
Oh I love those birds- they’re amazing to watch, aren’t they?
thathappyreader
They really are Greg! I could watch them for hours! Thanks for reading.
Wendy Williams
That photo of the hummingbird is amazing! They are difficult to take photos of. We had so much rain when we were in Canada, and now that we’re home, we have a lot of rain here! I hope your heat subsides soon.

Thanks Wendy! I hope the sun starts shining on your home too!
Jenni Elyse
I’m sorry it’s so hot where you’re at. I know it’s hard with the heat in the PNW because you don’t have the infrastructure to support it. I hope it will cool down soon.
I love hummingbirds. I love watching their wings and their cute little tongues. Great picture! 😀
thathappyreader
Thanks Jenni! I do love the hummingbirds!
Sara
