Having left heartbreak behind and moving to the friendly village of Honeyford, Becca has a job she adores as the Manager of the Cosy Kettle, and a best friend in her roommate Zac. But compared to her twin sister Jasmine, Becca feels unsuccessful and plain. Determined to improve her life, she creates a six-item wishlist which she feels will provide her with the life she so desires. Included in this list, is a date with the dreamy Logan.
The cafe has a diverse cast of characters who make up a book club who meet regularly at the cafe and make Becca’s work life eventful. Indeed, one of the members happens upon Becca’s wishlist and shares this list with the rest of the book club. After several meetings, the book club develops the Becca improvement plan. Throw in having to makeover the cafe for Logan’s work event and Becca is in transition overload.
What transpires is a funny, enchanting read full of Christmas spirit, friendship and introspection. I loved Becca’s character and her willingness to better herself but keeping the need to be true to herself. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
