I’m a reader who loves an occasional story about love and romance. Hallmark Publishing’s latest release, A Cottage Wedding, does not disappoint.
Heart’s Landing has been named America’s Best Wedding Destination by Weddings Today magazine for the past several years. After all, the town is all about weddings and how to give a bride her perfect day. When Tara Stewart, a junior writer, is given the assignment to review the town for the latest annual award, she is told by her editor to be sure to find evidence to disprove the romantic love story of the current owner’s ancestors. If she fails to do so, her job with the magazine is threatened. Determined to please her editor, Tara sets out to Heart’s Landing to fulfill this mandate. She soon learns that this assignment may be more difficult then she once believed – especially after she gets to Heart’s Landing and meets the handsome Jason Heart and the rest of the charming town.
I enjoyed this book and the sweet qualities of this town with its cute names of streets and businesses. I found the characters to be interesting and well developed. Although the story was predictable, it did not take away from the story. I loved how the author focuses in on the historical aspects of the town, and the reenactments of the town’s greatest love story. My only real criticism was the concept of “America’s Best Wedding Destination” which was a little too ridiculous for my liking – especially given how important it was to the town’s economy to need to win every year.
I’d recommend this book to those who enjoy clean romance novels .
Thanks to Hallmark Publishing for the ARC of this book in exchange for the honest review provided here.
