I’ve been searching to find some new challenges to participate in this year and The 2023 Library Love Challenge caught my eye. Let me tell you all about this challenge which is hosted by Angel’s Guilty Pleasures & Books of My Heart.
The Details:
❤️ Runs: January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023. You can join anytime. The sign-up will remain open until Dec. 1st, 2023.
❤️ The goal is to find your love of your local library and to read at least twelve (12) books from the library, but you can read more. While twelve is the minimum; there is no maximum limit. See the different levels below and pick the one that works best for you.
❤️ Any format will work for this challenge (prints, ebooks, or audios) as long as you checked it out from the library, it counts.
❤️ Books can be any genre (fiction, nonfiction, romance, fantasy, mystery, thriller, horror, etc.).
❤️ Crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed, including re-reads. The goal is to support your local library and save money.
❤️ You do not have to be a book blogger to participate; you can track your progress on Goodreads, Facebook, LibraryThing, etc.
❤️ If you’re a blogger grab the button and do a quick post about the challenge to help spread the word. If you’re not a blogger you can help by posting on Facebook or Tweet about the challenge. Please link back to both hosts: Angel’s Guilty Pleasures @angels_gp & Books of My Heart @BooksofMyHeart
❤️ As an added bonus: We’re offering up a GIVEAWAY with this Challenge. Winner will be picked at the end of the year!! There are a few freebie entries just for signing up to join the challenge and then the main entries throughout the year will be the direct links to your book reviews. You will have until Jan. 4th, 2024 to enter your reviews in the Linky/Rafflecopter.
Review Link Up Will Be Live Jan. 1st 2023.
❤️ (Optional) Added Challenge(s) & Giveaway(s): This year we will be doing a few fun challenges throughout the year. We will have an Audiobook Challenge (May-June), the Library BINGO (July-Aug.), & lastly an End Of Year Check-In (Dec.). Each added challenge will have a fun giveaway plus the MAIN giveaway.
❤️ (Optional) Reviews: Write a review to enter the giveaway – 2 sentences or an essay, whatever works for you, but there is a minimum of 2 sentences. Not sure what to write? How about something like; “The plot was a delight, but the characters didn’t capture me.” “I enjoyed the story and really liked the characters.”
❤️ Please use #LibraryLoveChallenge when sharing your reviews, library pictures, etc…
Levels:
- Dewey Decimal: Read 12 books
- Thrifty Reader: Read 24 books
- Overdrive Junkie: Read 36 books
- Library Addict: Read 48 books
- Library Card on Fire: Read 60+ books
I’ve chosen the Thrifty Reader level of 24 books for The 2023 Library Love Challenge. Most of my library reads are in audiobook format so this challenge fits in nicely with another 2023 challenge I’ve chosen: The 2023 Audiobook Challenge. I’ll also be working towards my Goodreads challenge of 100 books read in 2023.
You can watch my progress towards my challenges on any blog post. It’s on the right hand side of the page on tablets and computers and near the bottom of the page on phones.
Are you participating in any book challenges in 2023? Let me know!

I absolutely agree! My pocketbook is grateful too! Thanks for reading.
Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
Best of luck. I am focusing on kindle unlimited since I bought a 2 year membership. I borrow from the library as well and plan to read 3 from there in January:)

Thank you Kimberly! Good luck on your challenges too!
Kal @ Reader Voracious
Oohhh thanks for posting about this challenge! I am actively working to buy less these days and added incentive to use my library more & track it is always a good thing!

I’m glad I could help Kal! With the price of everything going up these days, every bit helps!
Rose
This sounds like a fun book challenge! I wasn’t really aware they were a thing, apart from Goodreads. I think I will probably be just doing the Goodreads one this year 🙂
