My Week:
Happy Mother’s Day to all those celebrating today! I know that this day can be difficult for some of you and please know that I am thinking of you today as well. I am spending much of the day with my Mom, sister and niece and looking forward to it.
The weather here in Vancouver has been absolutely wonderful and we’re experiencing high 20’s (C) temperatures over the past few days. The bearded iris’ and peonies are about to bloom. I’ve planted sweet peas for their fabulous scent and everblooming flowers this summer. I’ve even gotten back to a more normal reading schedule. We are still awaiting a date for Dad’s surgery and Mom has been given a date in early June for cataract surgery. We’ve also booked a mini-vacation for the end of September.
What I’m Watching:
We watched “Mother of the Bride” on Netflix and enjoyed it! It’s a rom-com and stars Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt and Miranda Cosgrove. I loved the Phuket Thailand location for the film and although it has a predictable plot, was entertaining nevertheless.

Happy Mother’s Day! We’ve been having that nice sort of weather. My peonies only last like 2 days. But the daylilies have started and they will go a few months since I have various varieties that bloom at a bit different times.

Your garden is a little ahead of mine Anne! I have peonies too and their bloom duration is really weather dependent.

Wow! I’m not a fan of 100 degree weather – especially when humidity is involved. Happy Mother’s Day to you too!

Happy Mother’s Day, Jodie! You are right; it can be a difficult day for some people.
I’ve never seen sweet peas here. I think it’s too hot here.
