My Week:
It’s been a quiet week which has allowed me to do a bit of shopping, gardening and reading. I’m really enjoying the books I’ve been reading lately but this doesn’t surprise me – May and June each year has many of my favourite authors releasing new books. Furthermore I’ve become very specific on the books that I will be reading now and not requesting books on Netgalley, Edelweiss or Libro.fm unless the book really speaks to me. My public library is very good and anything I can’t get from Netgalley or Edelweiss is usually there. If not I’ll spend an Audible credit and get it from there.
Next week starts a two week long steady stream of appointments and surgeries for my parents that I will be attending. I may not get as much time to read but will get plenty of chances to spend time with them both which is always a good thing.
What I’m Watching:
One of my favourite series, The Good Doctor, has its final episode air this week and I’m really going to miss it. This episode was very emotional yet positive and was able to leave the viewer with a sense of completion. In fact, it was one of the best series finales I have ever watched. Did anyone else watch the show and feel the same way?

That’s a wrap on The Sunday Post #105. How was your week?
I wish you a wonderful week ahead!
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
I’ve had tons of good books come in for me this week. I am eager to give them a read. Fortunately, I, like you, had a quiet week, and I was able to get some reading done.
I love it when a series ends on a high note. I just finished Star Trek Discovery’s last season, and the ending was like that.

A good finale is so satisfying!

I hope that all the appointments and medical procedures coming up go smoothly and according to plan! And I’m glad you managed to have a quiet week before this all started… Yes – these days, I’m increasingly picky about what I choose to read in order to ensure that I keep DNFs to a minimum!! Have the best week possible, Jodiex

Thank you Sarah! You too.

I hope your parents’ appointments and sugeries go well, Jodie! I haven’t seen The Good Doctor myself because medical shows give me so much anxiety (I have no idea how I watched the first few seasons of Grey’s Anatomy when I was a teenager lol), but the series ending was a satisfying one. 🙂

Thank you Aimee.

I am much further back on The Good Doctor. I wonder what Freddie Highmore will do next. He did well with Bates Motel too.
thathappyreader
He did! I hope we get to see more of him.
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
I have got to get better about not requesting books! I am doing better with Netgalley, but with publishers now sending me books, I’ve got to remember not to go download them until I know I”m going to read and like them. I have so many on my shelves I want to get read. Hope you have a good week!

I get sent widgets too Lisa but unless the book speaks to me I don’t accept them.
Joy Weese Moll
I hope everything goes well with your parents. There’s a lot of wait time in medical settings, I find, so you might get some reading done!

I actually don’t read during these times Joy. It’s too difficult to keep focused.
Anne- Books of My Heart
A quiet week sounds great! I hope the appts go well over the next weeks.

JoAnn @ Gulfside Musing
Hope your parents’ appointments and surgeries go well… and I hope you get some time to read in the waiting rooms! I’ve got so many books on hold from my library now, and am hoping they don’t all come at once.

Thank you JoAnn.
Carla @ CarlaLovesToRead
I will keep your mom and dad in my prayers Jodie, for successful surgeries. It’s great that you had a quiet week, so you will be rejuvenated for the week ahead. I need to get your will power, Jodie. I am thinking of not requesting ARCs anymore unless it is for a blog tour of a book I don’t want to miss. I am using the library more as well, and not getting to all those NG or EW books on my shelves which is not good. I hope you have a good week with wonderful news after your parent’s surgeries.

Thank you so much Carla.

I hope all the appointments go well and you are able to sneak in some reading. I haven’t been picking up much on Net Galley either, really trying to focus on my own books (until I get sidetracked by the library, LOL!). I am a work in progress. Have a good week.

The way the Good Doctor ended was perfect!!! I loved getting a glimpse into everyone’s life down the road. I’ll miss that show so much. I did not miss a single episode.

I’m glad you loved it too Jinger!

I’m glad to hear you’ve been enjoying your books! It’s always exciting when your favorite author has new releases around the spring/summertime. I’ve not watched The Good Doctor, but I love Freddie Highmore! He’s such a talented actor. I hope you have a wonderful week Jodie!
