My Week:
It’s been a cooler than normal week and we’ve had rain in between a cloudy days with a bit of sun. Luckily yesterday was a dry day as we had a bit of commute to the hospital and back for my Dad’s surgery. We haven’t talked to the surgeon yet and won’t until Dad’s follow-up in 2 weeks time. One of the issues we always seem to contend with is that Dad’s cancer affects his kidney function and usual antibiotic dosaging can further damage his kidneys. This is the second time that this has happened to us and necessitates the local pharmacy having to call the doctor to have the prescription changed. Lower kidney function can be expected as we normally age anyway so if you are over 65 or have someone in your life who is, ensure you have the doctor order kidney function tests. I’m going to ask Dad’s kidney care team to provide me with a resource to give to his physicians to ensure they are safe dosing. Dad did receive good news from his oncologist for his primary cancer earlier this week and treatment is continuing to produce very good results. He is such an amazing man to have tolerated all he has gone through over the past 8 years. Next up is Mom’s surgery on Monday.
Later today (Saturday) we will be gathering to celebrate my brother and sister’s birthdays which are 3 days apart (and 4 years 😂).
What I’m Watching:
With the series finale of The Good Doctor a couple of weeks ago I looked to find another medical drama. Chicago Med was strongly recommended to me and I’m really enjoying it. The first seven seasons are on Amazon Prime but I plan on watching all nine seasons over the summer.

You have been busily caring for your parents this week. I’m glad your dad is doing so well despite all he has been through.
Look on the Bright Side and A Happier Life both seem in tune with my theme in life.

I hope the birthday celebrations Saturday were fun! My husband’s birthday is next weekend. We’re planning a small celebration. He doesn’t want a big fuss made. I hope you have a good week, Jodie!
