My Week:
Happy Father’s Day to all that are celebrating! We celebrated a day early with my extended family and it was lovely. I feel truly blessed that I have so many great fathers in my family.
It’s been a quiet week. The weather here is improving slowly but we’re still experiencing an abnormally cool and wetter than normal June. My thoughts are with those of you who are experiencing fires and extremely hot and dry conditions – I wish I could bottle some of our rain and send it to you. In my garden, the cranesbill geranium is putting on it’s annual show. ☺️

What I’m Watching:
I’m looking forward to watching a new period drama which was shown in the U.K. earlier this year but is starting tonight on PBS in North America. It’s set in the 1920’s and features the daughter of a wealthy industrialist who moves from the U.K. to Italy. I love to hear from those of you in the U.K. that have watched it!

trin carl
Love the books in this blog post and will definitely add one. Love that you reminded me of Father’s day. My dad moved back to MN from Florida and I’m thrilled.

How nice that you’re closer to your Dad now! Thanks for reading Trin!

Moving to a popular tourist destination and figuring out how to live is a very frequent choice for TV series. Was the origin of this trend “A Year in Provence” — that is, the book? I wonder. People never seem to get tired of it (though I am definitely not consuming any more!)

Thanks for reading Mae. As with all things, this show may not be for everyone.
Raji
I’m looking forward to reading the new feature posts! Hope you have a great week!

Thank you Raji! ☺️
Samantha The Book Disciple
It was so hot here last week in SW Ohio. There were heat warnings every day. It was miserable. It usually doesn’t get this hot so soon into summer, so I am not looking forward to July and August!
thathappyreader
Oh I hope it cools down for you Samantha! I hate when it’s so hot you can’t even spend time outdoors.
Anne - Books of My Heart
I had those geraniums in Minnesota and loved them. The abnormally cool and rainy sounds good. I also want to read The Hookup Plan and Lessons in Chemistry.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

Zoe Meghan Blogs
Omg girl, I love this blog post you are so organised! It is inspiring! Also how do you read two books a week ? It takes me weeks lol!
thathappyreader
Audiobooks make it so much easier to read more Zoe because you can multitask while listening! Thanks for reading Zoe!
Greg
Beautiful pic! Our June has been like that too although it is warming up some now. Glad you had a nice Father’s day!
I need to get BritBox.
thathappyreader
Thanks for reading Greg! No need for BritBox with this show – on PBS!
Jenni Elyse
Those geraniums are beautiful! I do love purple, though. 🙂 Hotel Portofino looks very interesting. I think I’ll like it. The new Persuasion trailer on Netflix looks really good too.
thathappyreader
Thanks Jenni! I will have to check out the trailer for Persuasion!
Susan1375
Sadly only just read this and realised I missed Father’s Day. Oh well. Have a good week.
thathappyreader
Oh no! Thanks for reading Susan.
Wendy Williams
I think you sent us some rain, Jodie! We got just a bit yesterday and Friday. So Thank You!
thathappyreader
Hooray it worked! 😂 Thanks for reading Wendy!
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
It’s been hot and dry at home this summer. I have mixed feelings about that because at least we won’t have hurricanes with a high over us!
Maggie Moves On looks like a lot of fun. I really liked Lessons in Chemistry—I thought it was a nice mix of funny and thoughtful.
thathappyreader
Thanks Deb! I just started Lessons in Chemistry but I’ve seen nothing but positive reviews for it. I hope that the season brings a hurricane free year for you.
Amanda Kay Oaks-Christman
Definitely envious of your cool weather–it was incredibly hot in PA last week. Not too bad over the weekend, thankfully. Hope you enjoy Lessons in Chemistry as much as I did!
thathappyreader
Thanks Amanda! Let’s combine our weather and even it out a bit for both of us! 😂
Carla
It sounds like you had a great Father’s Day, so glad you have fathers to celebrate it with. I also read Maggie Moves On and I loved it. I will be looking forward to hearing what you think about Hotel Portofino. Have a great week, Jodie.

Thanks for reading Carla!
