Welcome to The Sunday Post #110! The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.
My Week:
It’s been a cooler week with a mixed bag of sun, cloud and showers. It’s great weather to get into the garden, go for a walk, or do any other outdoor activity. On Sunday, we went to a local farmer’s market, had some wonderful food at lunch and grabbed some casino time. I even came out a winner! My parents didn’t have any appointments this week and this was a lovely change.
I’m seeing commercials for Hallmark’s Christmas in July which has got me thinking about looking at Christmas reads for later in the year. As I have for the past two years, I will also be hosting my Christmas Reading Challenge this year so look for my post detailing this in August. You can read about last year’s challenge here.
What I’m Watching:
On last week’s The Sunday Post I noted I was looking forward to watching “I am: Celine Dion”. I have watched this documentary which was extremely moving ( I cried several times) and very well done. There is a scene near the end of the documentary where we see what Celine goes through when she’s having a Stiff Man Syndrome attack which is particularly shocking (it progresses so quickly). Has anyone else watched this documentary yet?
This week I’m looking forward to watching “A Family Affair” on Netflix starring Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron. It’s a romantic comedy about an unexpected romance that leads to comic consequences for a young woman, her mother, and her boss as they navigate love, sex, and identity. It must be the year of movies featuring older woman having affairs with younger men.

I wish you a wonderful week ahead!

Yay for casino winnings! Also kind of crazy that I don’t think I’ve seen any movie with Zac Efron as the lead since High School Musical… 😂

Thanks Aimee! I don’t think I have seen Zac Efron either!
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
I was wondering what that movie was about. Sounds like I’ll have to give it a try. I guess they’re doing a big Hallmark festival thing here in Kansas City close to Christmas time this year, so that is cool! I’ve already got several holiday reads planned out for later this year, so I’ll have to join into your challenge! We had the horrible heat last week, but I think it will be a slight bit cooler this week thankfully. Have a great week!

It’s great to have a week off where your parents didn’t have any appointments. I’m glad the weather has been good so that you can do some gardening or take a walk. Nice!

I didn’t realize A Family Affair had Nicole Kidman and Zac Effron partnered up. That seems so strange to me, lol.
I hope you’re family’s doing well and that you are too. My neighbor is an extra in one of the Hallmark Christmas in July movies. I’m really excited to see her. 😀 I hope you have a great week!

You too Mae.
Anne- Books of My Heart
oh how lovely to have a cooler week without medical appts. July and August are always hot but the rest of the year is so nice I can’t complain. Even with the holiday this week we have 3 medical appts.

We had some rain yesterday when we went to the beach. We went and played on the 2p slot machines and won a couple of bits. We spent £2 in all 😂
Woot woot for Christmas in July. It’s not a thing here, but I have been trying my hardest to get the family involved ever since I found out about it a few years ago 😂 I will try and read a Christmas book but we shall see. I may have overdone it on the Blog Tour booking 😂
Have a great week!

Congratulations on winning! Sounds like you had an incredible week. I haven’t watched the Celine Dion documentary yet but I can already tell how emotional it’ll be from the trailer. I hope you have a great week, Jodie!

Thanks Winnie! You too.
Jinjer
OMG yes!!! I watched the Celine Dion documentary as I am a big fan of her. I’ve been to one concert and three tapings of two TV specials. I cried all the way through the documentary. So much heartbreak, pain, loneliness on her face. And then when she had that seizure!! My god! I’m so glad to see current video of her with life and joy and hope back in her face.
And then today they announced her foundation has donated $2 million to auto-immune something. That’s great!!!

I had the same feelings about the documentary Jinjer! And to think she’s been suffering for more time than what anyone knew!
