My Week:
It’s been a bit of a crazy week. The weather has been hot and dry and the extended forecast indicates we are getting more of the same for the foreseeable future. I had a few personal appointments this week and enjoyed some patio time before the heat forced me inside. Later today we are heading out for lunch and some casino fun.
I also had some technological issues on the blog which caused it to crash earlier in the week. After being stable for so long, apparently my google font plugin began to cause me issues. Removing this plugin gave me no ability to change the font, its size or line spacing. I ended up purchasing the theme I had been using for free which was a whole new learning curve for me. If you saw some weird things on the blog off and on this week, this is why. Unfortunately being of a certain age and schooled before computers really took off has also limited my knowledge in this area. Can anyone relate?
What I’m Watching:
We watched the movie “Breathe” starring Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy this week on Netflix this week. It’s the true story of a man who contracts polio at the age of twenty eight and his wife who defy the odds pursuing an adventurous life and helping others along the way. It was truly inspirational.
On The Blog This Week:
Hi everyone and welcome to Monday Matters #100! Most of us hate to see Monday come, but I’m one for making it a bit more fun. Each week I take a look at new book releases, books on TV or film, recent author interviews and more!
In “The Best Life Book Club”, Sheila Roberts presents a touching story of new starts, budding romances, and the strength found in female friendships.
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a spotlight into a soon to be published book that I’m excited to read! Let me help you add to your bookshelf! This week’s pick is “Worst Case Scenario” by T.J. Newman.
The Restaurant masterfully intertwines family dynamics, romance, and culinary delights against the picturesque backdrop of Nantucket.
A fun look at different book covers for the same book based on geography or edition. Help me to choose Who Wears it Better in July 2024?
And of course, this post: The Sunday Post #112.
Next Week On That Happy Reader:
Monday Matters #101

I like those actors so may have to have a look at that film.

I hope that you love it Jamie!

I hadn’t heard of Breathe, but will have to check it out! I have some of the same tech issues, messed up my whole blog format/design, and just couldn’t figure out how to put it back so messed around with what I had. Now I’m not sure I like it so keep thinking about going and re-doing it all again, lol. Hope your week is good!

Thanks Lisa! I hope your week is good too!
Anne - Books of My Heart
I’m constantly making little adjustments to the blog and social media sharing. Fortunately I have people I can ask when I run into issues. We had all the hot / dry in June and early July. Now we are getting the somewhat more typical rain showers in the afternoon every few days. Stay cool!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

Thanks Anne. I need a person like that!

The only problems I’ve had with Blogger are with my add-on, Disqus. There have been so many times I’ve wished I had not added it to my blog, but it certainly does make commenting much nicer for me.
I need to take a look at your review of Best Life Book Club, I think.

I was on blogger originally and in some ways it was certainly simpler Deb.

I love patio time, but it does get hot quickly 🙂

I agree. I try to take advantage of earlier in the day for sure.

I’m pretty technologically challenged too, but I have a guy for when I’m stuck and my host is very helpful too.

Thank you Jonetta! You too!

I don’t know how to make a lot of changes on Blogger either. Nor do I have the time to learn. I hope you have a great week!

You too Cindy!

Sorry you had to deal with technical issues with your blog. I hate when that happens. I’m glad you were able to get it fixed.
I use a theme called Enfold that allows me to modify just about anything I want on my blog. I’ve been using it for about five years now and I couldn’t imagine using anything different, lol. It reminds me of the Tweak Me theme by Nose Graze that you see on a lot of blogs.
Anyway, I hope you have a great week!

Thank you Nicole.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
Blog issues are scary and frustrating. I really want to leave Blogger because I’m frustrated by the limitations, but it’s so easy to use!

Blogger is also cheaper AJ.

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having issues with the blog. My site recently updated and it’s changed some things around that I’m trying to get used to as well. I hope this new theme will be easy for you to figure out! Have a wonderful week Jodie!
