Welcome to The Sunday Post #114- now on Saturday! The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon and Marlene of Reading Reality in her meme Stacking The Shelves.
My Week:
The weather has cooled off here in Vancouver and we have a bit of rain expected early next week. Given the wild fires in the province and shortage of water in our watersheds it is welcome.
It’s been quite a busy week for appointments but the next week is particularly busy as my Mom, Dad and brother all have follow up appointments with their Drs. We had an issue with our security system in our house and are expecting a repairman to come later today. Hopefully it won’t be an expensive fix.
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves This Week:
From Publishers, Netgalley and Edelweiss+:
From The Library: None.
What I’m Watching:
Those of you who have followed me a while will not be surprised that I’m a huge fan of the Olympic games. The Opening Ceremonies were absolutely fantastic and the best I can remember. Celine Dion gave an emotional and electrifying performance. I hope to watch as much of the games as I can and cheer on Team Canada! 🇨🇦

That’s a wrap on The Sunday Post #114. How was your week?
I wish you a wonderful week ahead!
Jody
I have been thinking about you during these wildfires; it is so sad to see you on the news; I can’t even begin to imagine the pain and sorrow of losing everything. Please stay safe, and I hope it is just a minor fix on the security system, Jodie. Happy reading 🤗
thathappyreader
Thank you Jody! Luckily it was only a minor fix.
Emily @ Budget Tales Blog
I saw a bit of the opening ceremony but had to put the kids to bed and then I went to sleep too!
I hope all the Drs appointments went well.
Have a great weekend!

I don’t have a way to watch the Olympics (or haven’t found one yet) and I don’t want to pay for it. I would have loved to have heard Celine Dion’s sing, maybe it will end up on YouTube. Have a great week!

You too Cindy.
Veros @ Dark Shelf of Wonders
oof those wildfires are horrible, I hope the rain brings a bit of relief. I hope you enjoy your new treasures!

Thank you Veros.

I hope all goes well at the follow ups, and glad to hear you got some rain.

Thank you Erin.
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
I used to love Sophie Kinsella, but haven’t really read all her books past a certain point. I saw the Celine Dion performance, it was so good! Especially knowing what she’s dealing with. Hope you have a good week!

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
I loved the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games—every bit of it—including the music, the art, the dancing, the Paris settings. It was glorious. Good luck to your Canadian athletes!

Thank you Deb! I’m glad that you enjoyed them as well!
Jenni Elyse
Oooh. I love it when the weather cools off. The summer is just so oppressively hot where I am. And, unfortunately, fall only lasts a few weeks.
I hope your family’s appointments go well and aren’t too crazy. I also hope your security system can be fixed easily and inexpensively. *fingers crossed*

Anne - Books of My Heart
I’m also a big fan of the Olympics. I am thinking about subscribing to Peacock for a month so I can watch them. But that will take away from my reading time too. I’m listening to Worst Case Scenario and it’s exciting. I lived in Minnesota for 35 years so I like that setting, too. We also have a big week of medical appts. I hope your week goes well.

Jonetta | Blue Mood Café
I’m an Olympics fan, too, and thought the opening ceremony was spectacular! Temps have dropped her as well and we’re getting much needed rain.
Have a great week, Jodie💜

You too Jonetta!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I hope the rain puts out the fires! There are so many wildfires in the US and Canada right now that the smoke is killing my throat. Working outdoors has been unpleasant for the last few weeks.

I bet it is AJ. Take care.

I hope all went well with the security system! It was lovely to see Celine Dion on stage. I’m glad to hear there will be some rain. Have a great week, Jodie!

Carla@CarlaLovesToRead
I’ve been watching all the destruction from the wildfires and been praying for everyone. I hope you got some of that rain, Jodie. I agree, the Opening Ceremonies were amazing and yes, Celine Dion was exceptional. I haven’t watched as much as I would like as I have spent a lot of time outside in the pool with the kids. I hope your family has good news with all their appointments.

Thank you Carla.
