My Week:
It started as a cooler week here in Vancouver but we are now experiencing hot temperatures once again. It has also been a busy and stressful week of medical appointments for my family and I’m thankful that they all went as well as we could expect them to. Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers.
It’s been a quieter week otherwise. My hubby and I have planned a date night this weekend. I’ve been watching the Olympics and thoroughly enjoying them. Summer McIntosh, Canada’s 17 year old swimming superstar, is such a pleasure to watch and to listen to. What a posed young woman! I’m looking forward to the track and field events starting this weekend.
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves This Week:
From Publishers, Netgalley Edelweiss+ & Libro.fm:
From The Library: None
What I’m Watching:
Besides watching the Olympics, the only other show we’re watching is Big Brother season 26. As usual, this season is full of drama and interesting characters. I am also enjoying the new twists this season. Any other Big Brother fans out there?

Thanks Jody!

Still keeping you and your family in my prayers, Jodie💜
I’m watching the Olympics as well. I watched Summer’s race and she’s extremely poised.
thathappyreader
Thank you so much Jonetta.

So many bloggers report that they’re watching the Olympics. What’s fascinating is that each one seems to have chosen different sports. So many to pick from!
best, mae
thathappyreader
There are! I watch pretty much all the events Mae.
Cindy's Book Corner
We got Peacock so we could watch the Olympics as well. We are really enjoying it. I am glad the appointments went as well as can be expected. I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!

Thank you Cindy.

Gosh…I haven’t watched Big Brother in probably 20 years! I remember the very first season in 2000….or at least I think that’s the one. There was an older man from the midwest or somewhere. People figured out where the house was on the CBS Lot in Studio City and they were throwing some kind of candy over the walls. I remember laughing so hard when the older guy was walking around, picking them up and he goes “These orange ones are kind of tasty!”

I remember that too Jinger!
Vicki
I like watching the Olympics but this year I have some catching up to do.
I also love Big Brother but this year I’m not a fan of Angela at all. I don’t understand why she disliked Matt so much. I didn’t see him do or say anything wrong to anybody.
I love the cover of The Christmas Inn and will see what it’s about.
thathappyreader
I’m not a fan of Angela either Vicki! In fact I think she’s a bully!
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
I’m loving watching the Olympics. There are so many wonderful young people, with amazing stories.
I feel like I’ve been waiting all summer (and I have!) to read The Wedding People. I can’t wait to see what you think about it.
thathappyreader
I agree Deb! I love those Olympic stories.
Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life
I have not been keeping up to closely with the Olympics – mainly Simone Biles because Wyatt loves watching her. I love that name, Summer McIntosh. It’s like the name of a book character!
thathappyreader
It is a lovely name and it suits her so well Erin!
GWT
If nothing else, sports and the Olympics unites our countries. I’ve enjoyed the rowing this week. Much more so because they let us watch at work… Win Win!
thathappyreader
That’s great GWT!
Jenni Elyse
Sorry it’s so hot there again. Hopefully, it doesn’t last too long. I’m glad you had a date night with your hubby and I’m glad things are quieter right now. I hope you have a great week!

Anne - Books of My Heart
I hope to watch more Olympics! I love it but I have so many priorities. This week we have all the medical appts canceled the previous week. And it’s hot here also. I hope you get some cool breezes and a improving health week.

It’s good to hear that your doctors appointments well well. I haven’t watched Big Brother in ages. That might be something to binge watch. I hope you have a great week.

Her Digital Coffee
I’m happy to hear that all of the appointments went well! I’m also enjoying Big Brother, who knew there could be so much drama in just the first few episodes haha. I also like the new twist for 3 nominations instead of 2. It makes eviction night much more interesting! Have a great week Jodie and enjoy date night!

Thank you Winnie!
