My Week:
Thank you to all who commented about my accident last week. This community and books are a wonderful distraction. The process of repairing my car is going more swiftly than what I was originally told but it will be several weeks until I get my vehicle back. We are expecting to receive a loaner car today which was something we didn’t count on and obviously a pleasant surprise.
Our weather has been very mild and I’m enjoying it. We are expecting some rain this weekend which we could use – wildfires in the province are numbering at over 400 right now. Most of these fires start with lightening strikes – something we don’t see here much on the coast of the province but we certainly do in the interior.
Just a reminder that I’m once again hosting a Christmas Challenge which begins September 1 but you can start it later if you wish to do so. The guidelines are very relaxed and it’s a lot of fun. There is a link to this challenge in my sidebar but you can also find it here.

What I’m Watching:
I really enjoy movies based on true stories for their messages of determination and success despite life’s challenges. This week we watched “Maudie” on Netflix and loved it. The movie is set in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia and is the story of a woman battling rheumatoid arthritis who works as a housekeeper who gains notoriety as an artist. It stars Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke.

I heard on the news that road accidents are up this year. More people driving and chances of accidents increase. Glad you are set to get a car.

Thanks Harvee. We have had so many MVA deaths in my province lately – so sad.
Jody
Well, that’s good news that your car is being repaired quicker than you thought; it’s nice you are also getting a loaner, Jodie. I have been curious about Make Me A MixTape. I read a bad review of it and am now on the fence. I hope you enjoy all of these, Jodie. Happy reading, my friend 😊📚🌻

Thanks Jody. Make Me a Mixtape is by a Canadian author and I was approached by the publisher to read it.

I’m glad to hear you got a loaner. We were lucky my car fail was at home in the garage and only lasted 4 days for the repair, and our neighbor took us to my daughter’s medical appts. Cooler weather always sounds good in the last few years. We are getting into the weather I love most. Sort of summer with cool nights, which is probably just spring or fall here. lol

I’m glad to hear that the process for repairing the car is going so swiftly! I love that you created your own Christmas challenge and how easy and relaxed it is to join. I’m a bit behind on my reading but I’m hoping to get back on track before September. I hope you have a wonderful week Jodie!

You too Winnie!

I’m happy for you that you are getting a loaner, I would be lost with no vehicle. When I went to Halifax, I saw the Maude Lewis exhibit at the Art Gallery. They actually have her house there, it was dismantled and put together as part of the exhibit. It isn’t very big. Rain would be nice for BC and Alberta. I keep praying that the wildfires end. Have a great week Jodie.

That’s amazing that you visited this exhibit. Putting it on my travel bucket list Carla!
