My Week:
We’ve had mix of weather this week but it feels more and more like fall is around the corner. I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to summer yet and hoping we get at least one more nice stretch of warmer weather.
It’s been a quieter week which I’ve enjoyed. Dad only had one appointment this week and it went well. We have not heard anything further about when we might be getting our car back but I know they are waiting for a part to arrive August 29.
I’m starting to hear more and more about COVID rearing its ugly head again – it’s reported that one in 53 people living in my province have COVID right now. Hopefully another round of boosters for those of us in high risk categories will be coming soon – ideally before our next trip at the end of September. It’s interesting to hear that some of the latest sequela of these new variants is depression and anxiety.
Just a reminder that I’m once again hosting a Christmas Challenge which begins September 1 but you can start it later if you wish to do so. The guidelines are very relaxed and it’s a lot of fun. There is a link to this challenge in my sidebar but you can also find it here.

What I’m Watching:
Such Brave Girls is a U.K. sitcom that is now available to view in Canada on Crave and on Hulu in the U.S. It follows two 20-something sisters (played by real-life sisters) and their mother who while are different from one another, share the traits of being vain, selfish, financially strapped and desperate for affection. I’m not sure if I’m going to like this one or not so if you’ve seen this BBC series let me know your thoughts.

The Sunday Post #119
That’s a wrap on The Sunday Post #118. How was your week?
I wish you a wonderful week ahead!
Tina
Covid hit us and we rarely go anywhere so…guess it was at the grocery store. My god it’s a wicked thing. Now I can’t get vacinated until December, must wait three months afterwards.
Looking forward to hearing about the Christmas challenge. Hope you get your car back soon.

Thanks Tina! Yes you can get COVID anywhere. Check out the link to the Christmas challenge in the right sidebar.
Jody
We are also being warned about COVID-19 rearing its ugly head again. When the boosters are ready, we are getting one; we can’t afford to catch that. I am happy you had a quiet week, Jodie. Have a relaxing weekend!

You too Jody!

Glad that your dad’s appointment went well. COVID is scary. My partner is a teacher and caught it last month. I relegated him to my sons room and moved my son in with me. I can happily confirm that neither me or my sons caught it. It is a worry though as my youngest has just turned 1. People just don’t seem to worry about it anymore which is annoying.
Have a lovely weekend!

I’m glad to hear you and your little ones got sick Emily. I agree that many people don’t take it seriously. With so many high risk people in my life it is a no-brainer for me to get vaccinated and take precautions as needed.

The pharmacist here said that the new vaccines should be available around Labor Day here. Covid is everywhere here.
The Snowbirds looks promising!

That’s great news Deb. It hasn’t been approved yet here in Canada but I expect it will very soon.
Mark
I’m with you. I’m not ready for cooler weather. We’ve been cool for us here in So Cal the last couple of days, but I love the warmer summer weather.

Let’s hope we can hold Fall off for a while Mark!
Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life
Covid is increasing in numbers here as well. As soon as we can get our boosters here we are going to. My dad and stepmom just had it. My stepmom was ok but my dad was pretty sick for a few days.
Stay safe!

It certainly does sound like COVID is everywhere right now. I’m sorry to hear your Dad was pretty sick.

I keep hearing about COVID in at least a third of the Sunday posts. We are still masking when we go out and haven’t had it yet. The pharmacy says the new boosters will be in September. I might like summer more if it was like your summers. That’s more like our spring and fall which I love. Summer here is mostly July and August and too hot some days.

My own household has been able to avoid it so far too. Fingers crossed!
JoAnn @ Gulfside Musing
The new vaccines were approved in the US last week and should be available very soon. Unfortunately, I just got over Covid so will wait three months before getting it. You can tell we’re finally getting closer to fall in CT… no AC for the past week!!

That’s my measure of approaching fall too JoAnn! Have a great week!
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
See, I am ready for fall and cooler weather. I am not a huge fan of the heat. I need to get that Rainbow Rowell book too. Hope things keep going well for your dad. Have a good week!

Thanks Lisa.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
There’s lots of COVID here too. I’m getting a booster because school requires it, but I’m not sure when that’s happening. I hope you have a great week!

You too AJ!

I’m with you Jodie, I’m not ready for summer to end yet. We had about 10 days of cooler weather, but yesterday it heated up again and is supposed to be hot all this week. I am a Snowbirder, but definitely not the kind described in the book. I hope you get your car back this week, Jodie. I hope you have a wonderful upcoming week.
thathappyreader
Thanks Carla! Here’s hoping that summer hangs around for those of us who enjoy Canadian summers.

This summer has gone by so quickly! We’re expecting nice weather with some rain this week, so it’ll be a nice balance. I’ll definitely keep my eye out for boosters, Covid is no fun and I definitely don’t want to catch it again. Have a wonderful week Jodie!
