2024 The Weekend Post

The Sunday Post #123: Weekly Highlights & More!

The Sunday Post
  1. Tina

I love the cover of The Holiday Cottage! Will look into that one just based on the cover – haha. I was stuck in from the hurricane so I managed to finish two books which I will post about next week. We have power so I am not complaining!

I’m glad to hear you made it safely through Tina.

  2. Jonetta | Blue Mood Café

Thanks for the info on Gifted as I want to watch that. Have a great reading week, Jodie💜

  3. Cindy's Book Corner

The Gifted sounds great! I am devastated by the Hurricane damage in NC and TN, I have family in both states (they are all good), and I have lived in both states. My husband’s uncle’s town is pretty much wiped out, and they are stuck at the top of the mountain for who knows how long. It’s crazy! I hope you have a great week!

Oh no Cindy! It’s devastating to see the damage on TV never mind live through it.

  4. Emily @ Budget Tales Book Blog

I hope that the weather is kind to you. It has been up and down here, but where I am in the South East UK we really only get flooding and the lart of the village where I live we just about escape it, usually.

A good looking haul of books. I’ve got the Sarah Morgan one from Netgalley although it is called The Christmas Cottage. I don’t understand why they changed the titles for different countries – so confusing!

    Have a good weekend.

I think it’s interesting why the title changes between regions too Emily.

  5. Deb Nance at Readerbuzz

I have just added The Holiday Cottage to my list at my library. I hope to read that one when I get closer to the holiday season.

Hurricane Helene was an awful hurricane. We had a small one hit us in July, and the fence behind us still have not be replaced. I can’t imagine with Helene.

Apparently the only hurricane we’ve had here in Vancouver was the year I was born – 1962. I can only imagine the devastation of hurricane damage from what I see on TV.

  6. Katie @Just Another Girl and Her Books

The Holiday Cottage looks good. I hope you enjoy your new books and have a great weekend.

    1. thathappyreader

Thank you and you too Katie!

  7. Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life

The Holiday Cottage looks so cute! I love that cover.

    Have a good week!

  8. Jinjer

McKenna Grace reminds me of Dakota and Elle Fanning in that there is nothing that girl can’t do. I most recently saw her in Handmaid’s Tale and A Friend of the Family. Such a talented actress.

  9. Nicci

I really enjoyed Gifted! I do love Chris Evans… Purely for his acting, of course. 👀
Hope you have a good week!

  10. rolé @ hooked by that book

Here the leaves are changing fast, but the days are so sunny and gorgeous. The hurricane is just awful. Hope you have a great week.

  11. Anne - Books of My Heart

I hope you have a great trip whatever the weather. The predictions have been rather unreliable of late. I want to get some yard stuff finished but it’s either too hot or raining.

Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

  12. JoAnn @ Gulfside Musing

We are still in CT, but very thankful our home in FL was not damaged or flooded during Helene. After a stressful week, a cozy holiday read sounds perfect!

    1. thathappyreader

I’m sorry you’ve had a stressful week JoAnn but glad your home was spared.

  13. Her Digital Coffee

I hope you have a nice and relaxing trip! It sounds lovely to be able to enjoy the warmer weather for a while longer. It was snowing in Calgary for an hour yesterday haha. Have a great week Jodie!

Way too early for snow, right Winnie?
