My Week:
Thankfully, we’ve both now tested negative twice, so we’re hoping COVID is behind us for now. Do we feel back to normal? Not quite. We’re both still experiencing intermittent headaches and persistent fatigue. We’re doing our best to push through by taking more breaks, but it’s challenging. I’m especially grateful my son didn’t contract the virus from us; despite living together, we kept our distance, masked up, and cleaned meticulously to prevent its spread.
The atmospheric river that hit us last weekend was devastating, with three people tragically losing their lives in Greater Vancouver due to flooding and landslides. For those unfamiliar with the term atmospheric river, NOAA describes it as a “relatively long, narrow region in the atmosphere—like rivers in the sky—that transports most of the water vapour outside of the tropics.Although they can vary widely in size and strength, an average atmospheric river carries water vapour roughly equivalent to the flow at the mouth of the Mississippi River”. Unfortunately, we are expecting more rain and wind over the next few days.
This weekend, we’re celebrating two birthdays, as both my son and husband have birthdays this week. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with family as we celebrate together.

What I’m Watching:
I’m looking to watch the Hallmark channel’s “Finding Mr Christmas” which begins on November 6. It’s a competition between ten men testing their Christmas spirit and acting skills. The winner earns the right to starring in a 2024 Hallmark Christmas movie and earns the title of “Mr Christmas”.

We, at Cook the Books Club, had Stanly Tucci’s book, Taste: My Life Through Food, back in 2022 as our April/May Selection. A terrific book, though I haven’t read any of his others.

I read that one I well! If you enjoyed Taste you will enjoy this new one.

Ugh! Sorry about the flooding and landslides. I live in western NC. Our area is still struggling with the damage and clean up from Hurricane Helene. So I know just how scary that is. I’m glad you’re on the mend from Covid c

It must be horrible coping with that fatigue after Covid and headaches. Hope it all clears soon. All your books look like my kind of books. I see the Sarah Morgan review coming up and some reviews from last week that I must take a peek at.
