My Week:
We travelled to Victoria BC this week with extended family for a most welcome two night stay in my province’s capital. We hadn’t been for many years and it was such a memorable holiday. We explored the city, ate great food and shared each other’s company. We had such a great time away and couldn’t believe we’d only been gone two days!
Despite being cautious while away, I’ve had a very sore throat since the day after returning. I’ve tested negative so far for COVID and there are no other symptoms, so I’m hoping it’s just a virus that I will clear soon.
Here’s a few photos from my trip:

Victoria looks like a beautiful city to visit. I’d love to spend time in Canada.
I’m looking forward to The Bodyguard. Summer at the Little French Cafe looks like an ideal read for this time of year, too.

Thanks Deb! It really is a lovely city.
Preston
Good luck with that sore throat. I try to remember to take Vitamin D3 every day and it really seems to help with the bugs.

Thanks Preston. Yes Vitamin D3 is part of my regular regime as well.
Terrie @ Bookshelf Journeys

I too keep testing negative so I’m thinking it’s just a summer cold. Nevertheless I’ve been masking when not outside so as not to spread any virus! Thanks for reading Emily!
Jenni Elyse
I’m sorry to hear about your sore throat. I hope you get better soon and that it’s not COVID. (When I got COVID last month, it started with a sore throat. My first test was negative, but my second one wasn’t. :/)
I’m glad you had a great time on your two-day vacation, though. I haven’t been on a vacation since the pandemic started. I need to go on one, lol.
thathappyreader
Thanks Jenni! Thankfully I’m still testing negative – I will do one more on day 5. I highly recommend getting away as it does wonders for mental health.
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
I hope your sore throat doesn’t turn out to be Covid! Your pictures are beautiful! I’ll be reading The Bodyguard and Lucy Checks In soon too. I loved The Summer I Turned Pretty even though the ending, gah! I cried so much! Hope you have a good week!

Your trip to Victoria looks wonderful! I have not been there, but my mother went many years ago and raved about what a beautiful city it is. Maybe I’ll go on my next trip to Canada! Your photos are stunning. I’ve been wanting to watch The Summer I Turned Pretty, I should get a chance once I get home from my trip.

As I am reading this a week late, I am hoping you are feeling much better, Jodie. I loved my last visit to Victoria. We went the summer before my husband passed away, so it will always be a trip I cherish. I hope you loved whatever you read this week.
