My Week:
The weather here in Vancouver has been wonderful. You know that perfect balance of being warm without being so hot you don’t want to be outside? All exterior painting has now been completed and we can enjoy the patio and the weather once again.
My son is on vacation and he is my walking partner. We walk more than an hour each day and I look forward to this time. My garden is looking lovely and I enjoy seeing each perennial put on its show for the season. We host hummingbirds all year long and these crocosmia are planted especially for them:

Growing flowers for hummingbirds sounds fantastic. We do have a feeder, and this year it’s been pretty popular with at least one and maybe two pairs of hummingbirds. But we have too much shade in our small garden, so no flowers like yours.
best… mae

Thanks Mae! The flowers are particularly important this year in my area because we’re encouraged not to use feeders with Avian flu hitting our bird population hard.
Molly | Transatlantic Notes
It sounds like it was a really interesting week with a variety of experiences; I think I’ll have to start watching Virgin River! Have a lovely week ahead!

It looks like you’ve been busy! I’m loving that Crocosmia 🙂
It’s too hot here in the UK. We’ve got amber and red alert weather warnings for the next few days.

We have friends in the UK and follow their weather. I hope you can find someplace to keep cool. Take care.
Terrie @ Bookshelf Journeys
Looking forward to your thoughts on Carrie Soto (great cover by the way, don’t you think?). I have it on my TBR, but who knows when I’ll get around to it. 🙂 Find time to enjoy reading this week!

Hi Jodie!
I miss my summer beach walks… And seeing that I have a new walking partner now, summer must speed up!
I haven’t watched Virgin River in too long. Don’t think I’ve watched Season 3 yet… Will have to catch up!
Have a good week and enjoy those walks.

Thank you Mareli! Enjoy your new walking partner!
Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer
Your Crocosmia looks fantastic. Our temps have been unseasonably hot. We try to get out and walk in the mornings. All the covers on your books this week are so cute. I look forward to your reviews.
thathappyreader
Thank you Kimberly! I hope your temperatures cool down a bit!
Diana @ Book of Secrets
I’m jealous of your beautiful weather! It’s way too hot where I am, unfortunately. Your flowers are lovely. Enjoy the week ahead!

Anne - Books of My Heart
I love the perennials too. Right now I have daylilies and roses blooming along with coreopsis, rudebekia, astilbe and asters. The bees are happy. I can’t wait until it cools down a bit and we can more easily walk every day.

It sounds like much of the world is having a heat wave right now. We had temperatures above 40C last summer but this summer has been atypically cooler. I’m happy as long as I can get out and enjoy the great outdoors. Your garden sounds lovely.
Jenni Elyse
What lovely flowers. I’ve never seen them in real life, but I’d like to. 😀 I hope you have a great week!

Wendy Williams
The weather here at Okanagan Lake provincial park has been perfect yesterday and today too! We’re not too far from you. Thanks so much for the reminder that Virgin River season 4 is out, I’m going to binge it when I get home. I can’t wait for your review of Carrie Soto, I should be reading it soon. I hope you like Every Summer After, I loved that one.
thathappyreader
Thanks so much Wendy! I loved Carrie Soto and sure that you will too!
Carla
I love that kind of weather. It is so humid here in Southern Ontario. Your flowers are beautiful and it is so awesome that you attract hummingbirds. I loved My Bodyguard and am waiting to be approved for Lifesaving for Beginners. I hope you have a great week Jodie and enjoy your upcoming reads.

Thank you so much Carla!

The hummingbird migration comes through my area, and that’s when we see hummingbirds. You are fortunate to be able to see them all year long. I love the crocosmia. I bet our weather is too hot here for it, though.
I’ve been wondering about the new Taylor Jenkins Reid book. I wasn’t taken with Malibu Rising, so I’ll probably skip this new book.
thathappyreader
I am fortunate to be able to have hummingbirds here all year long. Thanks for reading Deb.
Sara
Love that you provide a beautiful and great food source for the hummingbirds in your garden!
Have a wonderful week ahead!

Thank you Sara!

Oh thanks for giving me the name, Crocosmia. I saw some in a park when I was walking with a friend, and was going to go back to take time to take a picture to identify it. it is so so pretty.
Nice weather here in Chicagoland as well.
