My Week:
I’m really noticing the shortening day length now and my early morning walks are during sunrise. I have really come to enjoy the peace of these walks before the neighborhood gets busy with cars taking others to school or work. I really think for me it’s the perfect way to start the day. The mornings are definitely cooler in the past couple of weeks but our days are for the most part filled with sunshine and warm temperatures.
My hardy hibiscus has finally put out it’s show this week with flowers that are larger than my hand width. Hopefully they will bloom for the next few weeks before our first frost.

What I’m Watching:
I’m interested in watching several new series this year starting with Monarch which begins September 11. It’s considered to be a primetime soap set within a backdrop of country music. Although I’m not a big fan of country music, it stars Susan Sarandon and I really admire her work. Here’s the trailer:

Jenni Elyse
Your hardy hibiscus is gorgeous! I’ve never seen on in real life before. I should go see if there are any at the gardening stores so I can see what they smell like as fresh flowers. I’ve noticed the shorter daylight as well. I’m glad it’s not getting dark in the late afternoon yet, but we’re almost to that time. I hope you have a great week!

Anne - Books of My Heart
I notice the shorter days too because we eat at 7 and I used to walk Lulu at 8 but now it’s dark at 7:30. I’m hoping it’s cool enough to walk after 4 and before I need to start dinner prep. I looked up the first frost here and the earliest is Nov 1. So we have some time and it’s still in the 80s (26-30C) . Happy reading!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
