My Week:
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a festive Christmas and New Year’s Eve. We spent several evenings with family over the holidays and had a wonderful time creating new memories. Watching the chaos of air travel during the holidays, I am thankful that family is always close by.
We had a lot of snow right before Christmas which made getting family members to appointments more challenging. Right after Christmas we had a big warm up and almost overnight the snow disappeared. I’m thankful for above freezing temperatures and dry days so I can get out and walk as much as possible.

I watched “That’s Amor” on Netflix this week and enjoyed it! It’s a romantic comedy about a woman whose life falls apart on the same day and her journey to rebuild her life.

Sounds like a great holiday! Our snow is finally gone with just some ice spots remaining. It was 45 yesterday and almost felt balmy!

A Guide to Being Just Friends looks like fun!
Glad the snow has melted away and that you can get out and walk. We went through a frozen time here (no snow, though) but it’s warming into the 70s now.
And to celebrate the new year…
Here’s a bit from a lovely old (1850!) poem:
“Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true…
Ring out a slowly dying cause,
And ancient forms of party strife;
Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws…
Ring out false pride in place and blood,
The civic slander and the spite;
Ring in the love of truth and right,
Ring in the common love of good.”
And a toast: Here’s to a year of wonderful reads and small joys!
