My Week:
Thank you for all the well wish comments from my post last week – it was really appreciated. While we are still awaiting test results, one family member received preliminary results that are encouraging.
The weather has turned to spring this week and the sun has been shining a good part of the week. The spring flowering bulbs are getting ready for their big show and I’m excited at the prospect of spending some time on the patio soon. Only those of us who experience the seasons will truly appreciate this.
That Happy Reader was acknowledged this week by Susan Mallery in one of her publication day instagram posts! I was thrilled for her to have done this and it brought me great joy during this difficult time.
What I Read This Week:
Next Week I Hope to Read:
What I’m Watching:
Tom Hanks is my favourite actor and I love the diversity of characters he portrays. I discovered a movie he filmed in 2020 which I hadn’t seen yet – News of the World. It’s set 5 years after the US civil war and is the story of a Captain who comes upon a 10 year girl who was taken by the Kiowa people. I loved the relationship that develops between these two as he strives to return her to her family. The movie is streaming now on Prime Video.

It was an entertaining read Lisa!
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
Our book club loved the News of the World book. It was a dynamic story.
It’s a wonderful feeling when an author reads and likes our reviews, I think. It probably happens more often than we realize.
I am curious about Jana Goes Wild.
thathappyreader
I think you’re right about it happening more than we realize Deb!
Raji

I didn’t realize that is what The News of the World was about. Now I want to watch it. That’s so cool that an author recognized you like that! I think I’ve only had it once or twice, but it’s always so neat! Jana Goes Wild is on my TBR. So I’ll be eager to see if you like it. Have a great week!

Anne – Books of My Heart
I’m glad you had that joy this week. IT’s fun when an author comments or promotes your review / blog. It’s not long now until we get more spring. We had a slight setback with snow flurries this morning but it was 40F / 5C so it won’t last.

Thank you Anne! I hope the weather turns warmer for you!
