My Week:
It’s the Canada Day long weekend here in Canada and I hope everyone in Canada is enjoying all that our glorious nation has to offer! Our weather in Vancouver has been beautiful and although I’ve had a busy week with appointments, I’ve spent as much time out of doors as I can. We’re expecting hotter temperatures next week although nothing compared to the heat dome that killed hundreds of people in my province two years ago. I was happy to hear that my province has spent millions in purchasing air conditioner units to our more vulnerable population for use in hot weather to prevent these types of unnecessary deaths.
The highlight of the week for me was the wonderful evening I spent with my extended family having dinner together and some time at a local casino. As I write this Saturday morning, we hope to spend the day today celebrating Canada Day with some local festivities.

What I’m Watching:
One of the books I read as an adolescent many years ago was “The Diary of Anne Frank”. A few years ago, we had the opportunity to visit the home her family hid out in during the war and it was an emotional experience. When I learned that Disney+ was streaming a show based on the woman who helped the Franks and many others during this time I knew I had to watch it. The miniseries is called “A Small Light” and I’m enjoy it immensely.

I am half way through that TV show and also went to Anne Frank’s house last year. I think it is beautifully directed and well acted. More people need to see this piece of historical drama.

I had not heard of A Small Light, but I am definitely interested. The Diary of Anne Frank made a huge impression on me when I first read it in middle school. I reread it years later and it was still just as meaningful to me. I am really curious about The Whispers. I hope you liked it.

I think it’s awesome that your province spent the money to purchase air conditioner units. I think other places should follow suit. It’s so terribly sad that people die because of no a/c.
