My Week:
It’s been a very hot week here in Vancouver. Our daily highs are approaching 40C every day. The temperatures in the interior or BC are even higher. The fire situation is worsening and at the time of writing winds and dry lightening are threatening much of the province. Wildfire smoke covers much of the province further limiting the amount of time you want to be outside. Thousands of people are having to evacuate their homes and communities. With global warming, this is our new normal. I have lived in the Vancouver area all of my life – the weather here is much different than it once was. I can only imagine how much worse it’s going to get in the years to come.

The Sunday Post #69
That’s a wrap on The Sunday Post #68. I wish you a wonderful week ahead!

I am sorry that the Vancouver area has been hit so hard by wildfires. The hurricanes along the Gulf Coast of Texas, an area I’ve lived in all my life, have become much more frequent and much more destructive lately. We are helpless, I think.
I’ll watch anything with George Clooney. Such a handsome man!
Curious about Tom Lake…

Thanks Deb. I hope you have a quiet hurricane season. I agree about watching George Clooney 😂
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
Maybe Once, Maybe Twice looks good! I’ll have to look into that! Yeah, we are having crazy heat here this week too. Hope you have a good week!

I really hope there is some relief for you all soon, though I think you are right in that climate change will continue to cause chaos.
I enjoyed Ticket to Paradise too.
Wishing you a great reading week

It’s worrying to see the news about the wildfires and temperatures; I can only imagine the stress and strain that has put people and communities under. My heart goes out to all impacted by this. As for your weeks entertaining reads and film choice, it seems like you had some good things to enjoy. I definitely want to watch Ticket to Paradise.

Thanks Molly. I am also very concerned about the loss of homes and livelihoods here in British Columbia and Maui – my heart goes out to everyone who’s been effected.

So sorry to hear of the terrible wildfires and crazy temperatures you’re experiencing. It’s horrible:((. Thank you for including the trailer to Ticket to Paradise – it looks like my kind of film! I hope the coming week is a better one, Jodie.

I’ve felt like you can really seee the climate changes here as well. Sad, isn’t it? Changing before our very eyes. Vancouver sounds like such a beautiful area. I hope things don’t get too worse.

Thanks Greg!

It’s a lot hotter & colder than it was when I first moved here at the end of ’85
I have the audio of Tom Lake
I watched Ticket To Paradise a while back and loved it, it was a great story and very funny
Anne - Books of My Heart
It’s sad the drastic effects which are starting to be more normal as the climate changes. Too bad some people don’t believe in anything but money.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
