My Week:
It’s been another stressful week. Two weeks after my Mom originally tested positive for COVID she remained symptomatic and was still testing positive. We have been trying to keep her well enough to stay at home and so far we’ve been able to do so. She is now testing negative and she appears, as I write this Saturday morning, to be on the mend. She has chronic cardiac issues which has impacted her health and recovery and we know this is going to take quite some time to have her feeling close to normal again. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers.
As a way of looking after my own health, I’ve signed up to participate in the Canadian Cancer Society’s 150 Km Cycle Challenge for the month of November. The goal is to ride 150 km (93 miles) during the month. I have a stationary bike which I used in the past but I’ve used very little in the past year. With both my Dad and my brother battling cancer, I thought this was a great way to raise funds for the cancer society and to improve my own health. As a way of making myself accountable, I’ll post my progress as the challenge progresses. Wish me luck!

What I’m Watching:
Although the official start of the Hallmark Countdown to Christmas doesn’t start until next week, they’ve began showing new holiday movies this weekend. This is a perfect distraction for me as I am a big fan of all things Christmas. Here’s the trailer for this year’s Countdown to Christmas (available on The W Network in Canada):

I’ve been curious about Viola Shipman since I think some of his books are set in northern Michigan, which is an area I really love

Good luck with the cycling. Sounds like a great goal. And sorry about the health issues with your family. Very tough. But your mom is on the mend, glad to hear. I recently got my first bout of Covid after returning from a trip to Italy. It’s been a couple a weeks now … but it’s taken awhile. It’s a menace. Hope your mom feels better soon.

Oh I’m sorry to hear you’ve been sick too! Yes I’m sure things will be weeks yet before Mom is feeling more like herself. How nice for you to go to Italy though! I love visiting there.
