My Week:
It’s Remembrance Day weekend here in Canada, as well as in the UK and it’s also Veteran’s Day in the US. I want to thank all veterans for their service. On a personal note, it is a weekend of reflection and gratitude for two men in particular. My Grandpa and Great-Grandpa both served in the Canadian Forces during WWII and WWI respectively. My Mom was conceived prior to my Grandpa leaving to go overseas and so she didn’t meet her father until she was nearly five years old upon his return home (he was injured near the end of the war and couldn’t return home until he was fit to travel). An unimaginable sacrifice.
It’s rained much of this week and added in some gusty winds particularly on Friday and Saturday. We have some very large cedars in the property behind us and I’m always a little nervous that one of them will come down on my house one day. I walked with friends on Wednesday and despite it being a rainy walk, we had a great time laughing and catching up with one another.
Now that my extended family’s health is somewhat stable I’m hosting our long-awaited Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. It will be nice for the three generations of our family to be together.
I’m making good progress on my 150km biking challenge for the Canadian Cancer Society. In this challenge, I have to ride 150 km on my bike (stationary bike) during the month of November. I had a request to post a link to my fundraiser so if you’re interested here is the link. This is my status on the challenge as of Saturday morning:

It’s nice to hear about veterans in time for those days this year. I should remember to do that in a blog post next year myself. Our thanksgiving is only about two weeks away, I’m so ready for the week off of work I get! Hope you have a good week!
