My Week:
We’ve had some cold mornings with temperatures dipping just below freezing before warming up with the sunshine this week. I didn’t read as much as I wanted to as I accompanied my parents and brother to their medical appointments and to the emergency room once again. I feel blessed that as a retired nurse I have now have the time to give to family to be with them for appointments, and ask for clarification when I think that they don’t fully understand what is being said.
Several of my family were able to attend the local light display at a large park in our city. The display gets more impressive each year! It was a great distraction for the week and we all enjoyed it very much. The lights represent some of the flowers and animals that live in the park – I loved the fish jumping from the water! Here’s a few photos to show what they had this year:
I’m continuing to make good progress towards my goal of 150 km during the month of November in my Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser. Here’s my status as of Saturday morning:
What I’m Watching:
I’ve been watching all of the new Hallmark Christmas movies (which we can watch on the W Network here in Canada) and have enjoyed them all. I love when the movies are set internationally and include the Christmas customs of the area. A Heidelberg Holiday is one example and this Germany set movie has become a favourite. Here’s the trailer:

Thank you Jody!
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
Wow! That library display is awesome! I wish I could get into the Hallmark Christmas movies. But every time I think about watching one, I end up just rewatching an episode or two of Outlander, lol. I should make that a goal this year to try to watch them! It is nice to have your nurse background to help with family. Unfortunately my mom is learning what they need to ask and make sure of when they go to the doctor after my stepdad’s visits to the ER this year.

The light display looks beautiful! We’re hoping to go to one nearly within the next couple of weeks. Your family is lucky you are available to go with them to medical appointments… I try to do that with my parents whenever I can. Hope you have a good week.

Unfortunately, I could not contribute to your fundraiser. I was told that American money is not accepted. Still, I wish you good luck!
The lights display is amazing. I’m supposed to go to one weekend after next. Hope it’s as good as yours.
Happy (American) Thanksgiving! I’m just getting around to visiting my blog friends this week—apologies for being so late to the table.

No problem Deb! I appreciate the sentiment. ☺️
Carla @ Carla Loves To Read
I love the light display, Jodie. Ours doesn’t start until next weekend and I hope I can take my grandkids. Is there a place where I can donate to your fundraiser, Jodie. With losing both my parents and my husband to cancer it is a charity near and dear to my heart. I watched Heidelberg Christmas this past week and really enjoyed it. I am loving all the Christmas movies. Between W channel, Crave, Amazon Prime and Netgalley, I will not run out of things to watch. I hope you had a great week!

Enjoy the light show Carla! I left a link to my challenge in last week’s The Sunday Post but feel free to donate to the cancer organization of your choice. ☺️
