My Week:
This has been an extremely stressful week. My brother was admitted to hospital on Tuesday with a very serious infection and he will remain there for quite some time as he receives large, frequent doses of IV antibiotics. There was no bed for him until Friday night so he remained on a stretcher/bed across from the nurses station for three nights and thus received very little sleep due to all the noise, lights and activity. As I write this Saturday morning I pray that he was able to get a good night’s sleep and feels a little stronger as the antibiotics do their work.
Needless to say, I haven’t had a lot of opportunity to read this week. I’m hoping to get some time over the weekend as my current read is from the library and I’d like to finish it before it’s due. The weather here is cool and sunny and my sister and I have taken to walking back and forth to the hospital (about 40 minutes each way). I’ve finished the Canadian Cancer Society’s 150km challenge for November and have chosen to continue to ride my bike each morning.
What I’m Watching:
I haven’t watched a lot of TV this week but I did watch a cute Hallmark holiday movie. “Holiday Hotline” has a female chef working for a cooking hotline bonding with a single father caller she’s smitten with in real life. The way this movie is filmed is quite creative. Here’s the trailer:

Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear about your brother! That is crazy that there wasn’t a bed for that long! I hope they are able to finally get him better in a room now. I watched that Holiday Hotline show this week too and really liked it! It was really probably my first Hallmark holiday movie that I’ve watched on purpose and all the way through. I hope this week will be better for you and like I said, that your brother gets better soon!

I’m so sorry that your brother is in the hospital. I hope that he is able to get some good sleep—how awful that there was no room for him—and that he recovers quickly and completely from the infection.
Holiday Hotline looks tempting, and I’m not, in general, a Hallmark fan.

I’m so sorry that your brother is in hospital. It’s dreadful they couldn’t get him a bed – I very much hope now he is receiving the proper treatment and getting sufficient rest, he is starting to recover. I hope the coming week is a kinder one.
