My Week:
As I write this Saturday morning we are experiencing a cold snap with temperatures well below normal (it presently -13C). Compared to the rest of the country this might be a milder day but for us on the west coast it’s bone-chilling cold. We had a dusting of snow earlier this week but are expecting a more significant snowfall on Tuesday.
My brother remains in hospital and couldn’t have his procedure done as expected this past week. He is being transferred to another hospital to have it done due to the lack of speciality service that is required. My Dad is scheduled to have his sutures out today from his December surgery and has an appointment with the cancer clinic this coming week. Most of my days continue to be filled caring for my family and I’m trying to squeeze in some reading whenever I can. I actually get up early to have some me time before heading to the hospital for breakfast. The routine of blogging and exercising are two things that help me to stay sane right now.
What I’m Watching:
Right now I enjoy easy to follow and relaxing movies. I’m looking forward to watching the premiere of “A Scottish Love Scheme” tonight on The W Network here in Canada (Hallmark channel in the US).

Jody
I hope that your brother’s procedure goes well, Jodie. I continue to pray for all of you. It is -8 degrees here right now, with a wind chill of -20, but the snow has stopped at least for now. Thank goodness I don’t have to go out in this, my body can not take this cold weather when it’s this bad. Take plenty of you time, you need that, Jodie. I pray next week brings you peace.. ☕📚🪱🥶☃️💙

Thanks Jody. I appreciate you prayers and kind message.
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
I am sure that your dad and your brother are so grateful for your help.
Whew! That’s so cold that I cannot even imagine it. I do hope you are able to stay warm.
I’m glad that blogging and exercising offer you a little bit of respite.

Thank you Deb.

Thinking of you, Jodie and sending prayers. I am in New York City and we have not had bitter cold temperatures or any measurable snow yet, but today we may get some snow. NYC has not seen an inch of measurable snow in two years. I taped the Hallmark movie A Scottish Love Scheme last night, hope to watch it sometime today. Take care.
JamieAdStories
You are lucky you get snow. We haven’t had any again. Hope your family recover well and you get some more reading time.

Thinks of you and sending lots of care your way. It is hard to care for others and also yourself–you’re doing a good job.

Thank you Sarah! I appreciate it.
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
Continuing to keep your family in my thoughts! We’ve been having the same frigid temps here, some of the coldest we have on record, and it’s supposed to last a couple more days! That is another Hallmark movie I want to watch. Just need to do it. Hope you have a good week and all the medical procedures for your family are able to get done with no problems.

Thanks Lisa.

That’s brutally cold! And I hope your brother gets the treatment he needs and your father continues to recover – what a tough time for you! You’re in my thoughts and prayers… And thank goodness for books.

Thank you Sarah! I appreciate it.

Sorry to hear that your brother couldn’t have his procedure done this past week. I hope the new hospital can get on that stat. I hope taking out your dad’s sutures goes well. Again, I’m sorry your family is having such a difficult time right now. They’re very lucky to have you. Sending you positive vibes and healing thoughts for your brother and dad.

Blogging keeps me centered sometimes too. the routine and the enjoyment of it, a little oasis during the day. Good luck to your dad, and your brother too.

The movie looks good. Those are the types of movies I need when I have a lot going on as well and it sounds like you have a lot going on with family in the hospital and going to appointments. We’ve had some of that going on in my family too.
I hope you have a good week and can enjoy some reading. We are having horribly cold weather here as well.
thathappyreader
Thank you Lisa. I’m sorry to hear you have a lot going on in your family too. Take care.

I’m happy that reading and blogging are two things that you can look forward to during this time. It’s been terribly cold here in Alberta too, it’s supposed to warm up this week and I hope it does in Vancouver as well. Sending you and your family healing thoughts and positive energy!

I hope everything goes well with your brother’s surgery. And all the good wishes and virtual hugs for you. Our weather is a lot colder, but it’s warmer than it was last week. We got fresh snow last night and looks like it’s still going. Have a great week!

I hope it has been a better week, Jodie, for your family. I will continue to keep them in my prayers. We watched A Scottish Love Scheme last night and really enjoyed it, but I wanted more. It sounds like you are taking care of yourself as well as others, but I hope your weather warms up a bit.
