My Week:
I’ve had a fairly busy week of appointments, birthday celebrations and fun with friends. Living in a COVID world has to a large extent gone back to life before the pandemic – but I am more mindful. I now reflect on how much I value socializing and how much I missed it for so long when we were advised to stay home. While life will remain somewhat altered while there is still a pandemic, I really am thankful for all the people that bring me joy. This includes all of you who take the time to read this blog. Your support means a lot to me.
My lilac started blooming this week! I love the scent from these flowers! This is a mini variety to fit nicely into my backyard garden.
What I Read This Week:

Our lilacs are also a dwarf variety to fit a small space, but they finished blooming last week. Yours look lovely.

That’s lovely Mae! We are definitely behind on our flowering this year due to a cool, wet spring. Thanks for reading!
Cassie
I have to be in the mood for Hallmark movies. But, I do love the Hallmark mysteries. You get some of the intrigue, without the gore. I’ll be looking forward to what the celebs are reading. Curious about that one.

Thanks for reading Cassie!
Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out
I am still careful too, I wear a mask when grocery shopping etc but I think I’ve gotten too comfortable with not going out to be honest.
I’ve just read Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley except it’s called The People on Platform 5 here. I thought it was lovely.
Wishing you a great reading week

What you said about COVID is so true. I’m much more mindful of the things I went without (still go without sometimes) for so long. I don’t take my health for granted and I’m much more conscious about spreading germs than I was before the pandemic.
I love your lilacs. They’re my favorite flower. I love their delicate petals and the variety of colors. I love their scent. I only wish they bloomed longer. Because their bloom is so short, however, it’s harder to take them for granted. 🙂

Well said Jenni! Thanks for reading and commenting. ☺️
Jade
I love your plant – so pretty! I also have a new found appreciation for socialising. Thanks for sharing.

I am very grateful for my book blogging community who helped to keep me going during the worst (or what I hope is the worst!) of the pandemic.
The lilac is beautiful. I bet it has a lovely scent.
I like the look of The True Love Bookshop. Fun!

Thank you Deb! The book blogging community is a wonderful one – very supportive of one another.
Greg
I like the idea of movies set in holiday or vacation destinations. Fun! I’ve never watched a Hallmark movie but they do look like they’d be relaxing. And Covid really has changed things, hasn’t it? Like Jenni said above, I’m much more mindful of germs now, but at the same time it’s nice that some things are going back to normal… whatever that is. 🙂
thathappyreader
Thanks Greg! I hope you have the opportunity to watch a Hallmark movie soon!
Elizabeth

Your lilac is lovely! It’s winter here with us, so not much is blooming at the moment. Seems like you had a few fun and relaxing reads, that’s always good. I love a good Hallmark movie, will take a look.
Thanks for visiting us earlier and I hope you will have a great week ahead!

Anne - Books of My Heart
Lilacs are my favorite. I’m not sure if mine is a dwarf or just small because it is pretty new and young when I planted it. We are still really careful and always mask when we are out of the house.

I love lilacs, Jodie. So pretty and they smell wonderful. I no longer have the Hallmark Channel so will have to wait until this one shows up on Prime or Netflix. It looks wonderful. I have to check out your latest reviews, now that my computer seems to be flickering less. Great post.
Wendy Williams
I feel like I can smell the lilacs just from your photo! It’s gorgeous. I hope you have a great week, Jodie!
