The Weekend Post #134: Weekly Highlights & More!

The Weekend Post
  1. Jody

Wow, you had a busy week. I hope you have a great time tonight, Jodie!

  2. Jonetta | Blue Mood Café

Wonderful that you were able to spend so much quality time with family, Jodie💜 I’ve been a huge Michael Bublé fan for many years, since he first came on the music scene. He was outstanding on this season of The Voice. So glad he’s coming back.

    Happy reading!

  3. Deb Nance at Readerbuzz

We were happy to get all of our shopping done yesterday. We also mailed everything off. Hurray. Now on to baking! I’m hoping to try a few new things including a Cinnamon Roll Snowflake.

  4. Carla@CarlaLovesToRead

It sounds like you had a wonderful week full of family and social times. I also love Michael Bublé and was so sad that I couldn’t get tickets to see him when he was here performing at the casino. I also have that Camilla Isley book, I do enjoy her writing. Have a wonderful week, Jodie.

  5. Emily @ Budget Tales Book Blog

Sounds like you had a lovely week. I love the sound of traditional baking.

    Have fun wrapping everything!

Have a great week next week!

  6. Carla

How lovely that you still have your great-grandmother’s recipe.

I’m not much of a shopper or holiday gift giver. I do all the cooking and give gifts throughout the year when I see or make something I think would be wonderful for that person.

    1. thathappyreader

I love that we still have the recipe Carla!

  7. Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out

I hope you had a great night out!

Wishing you a wonderful reading week

  8. Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life

Your Swedish bread tradition sounds wonderful! I love recipes that are family traditions.

  9. Jinjer

This –> we had a wonderful time tackling it together.

And I love that you guys keep your Christmas shopping tradition going.

  10. Harvee

Thanks for the Buble video and song. Hope I can catch his show on Nec. 16 on NBC.

    1. thathappyreader

I bet it will be rebroadcast if you miss it Harvee.

  11. Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)

I love Michael Buble! Traveled to Chicago to see him the very first time I saw him before he started coming to Kansas City. I’ve never had any Swedish bread, will have to see if I can find some to try. We had rain all day yesterday it seemed even though the weatherman said only a little bit in the morning. I like Camilla Isley, but don’t know that I have time to fit that one in for a review, so will read it at another point I think. Hope you have a good week!

Our family recipe is different than the traditional one as it has a secret ingredient Lisa! 😉

  12. Anne - Books of My Heart

What a great wee with family and finishing up your shopping. I love Michael Buble too! I make something called a Swedish Tea Ring that my daughter loves. It was in my old Betty Crocker cookbook. I don’t think particularly Swedish. It’s really just like a big cinnamon roll shaped in a ring. I use apples and nuts in it.

I have that cookbook too (mine is 50 years old now!). I’ve made Swedish tea ring too – very similar to a cinnamon roll.

  13. Vicki

I miss my Christmas Traditions with my mon. She was the best shopper I’ve ever known. She always found amazing things and deals.

    1. thathappyreader

It sounds like you have lovely memories of your Mom Vicki.

  14. Marg @ The Intrepid Reader

Oh, I hope that we will get to see that Buble special too!

    Have a great week!
