My Week:
This past week has been mild and dry, but the weekend has turned wet and windy once again. Last weekend, my mom, sister, and I made a treasured family recipe for Swedish bread. My great-grandmother put her own twist on the traditional recipe by substituting ingredients, turning it into a once-a-year treat! Although it’s a tricky flatbread to make, we had a wonderful time tackling it together.
I managed to fit in several shopping trips this week, including one with my mum, sister, and niece—a tradition we keep every Christmas. I’m pleased to say I’ve officially finished my shopping! Next week, I plan to focus on baking and wrapping gifts.
This evening, my husband and I are meeting my sister and brother-in-law for dinner and a night at the casino. I’m really looking forward to it!
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves This Week:
From Publishers, Netgalley, Edelweiss+ & Libro.fm:
If The Ring Fits is a hilarious and heartwarming rom-com about Adrian, a multi-millionaire investment banker, and Rowena, a STEM software engineer, who unexpectedly find themselves in a fake engagement. Adrian invents a fiancée to impress his CEO, while Rowena, recently unemployed, pregnant, and out of options, agrees to the ruse. Their rules are simple: pretend to be madly in love, keep their real lives separate, and absolutely don’t catch feelings. But as their charade brings them closer—especially with shared hotel rooms and no personal space—the line between fake and real begins to blur. What starts as a desperate pact evolves into a messy, complicated, and wonderful love story, proving that the worst days can lead to the best mistakes. Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC.

What I’m Watching:
I’ve adored Vancouver’s own Michael Bublé for decades. His music and sparkling personality make him a truly treasured entertainer. So, I was thrilled to hear about his upcoming Christmas special, Michael Bublé’s Christmas in the City, airing on December 16 on NBC. I’m sure it will feature his beautiful duet with Carly Pearce, Maybe This Christmas, which he recently premiered on The Voice.
Congratulations to Michael for being the winning coach this season on The Voice!

Wonderful that you were able to spend so much quality time with family, Jodie💜 I’ve been a huge Michael Bublé fan for many years, since he first came on the music scene. He was outstanding on this season of The Voice. So glad he’s coming back.

It sounds like you had a wonderful week full of family and social times. I also love Michael Bublé and was so sad that I couldn’t get tickets to see him when he was here performing at the casino. I also have that Camilla Isley book, I do enjoy her writing. Have a wonderful week, Jodie.

Thanks Emily!

How lovely that you still have your great-grandmother’s recipe.
I’m not much of a shopper or holiday gift giver. I do all the cooking and give gifts throughout the year when I see or make something I think would be wonderful for that person.
