My Week:
It’s been a quiet week. We had a couple of sunny days followed by another stretch of rainy weather. We learned that we are still in drought conditions with our water reservoirs hoping to get to 80% capacity with the snow melt from the mountains. I am tired of rain and cannot wait to get some nicer weather but at least I know all this rain is needed.
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves This Week:
From Publishers, Netgalley, Edelweiss+ & Libro.fm
Wendy, a devoted wife, mother, and nurse, has spent years caring for others without ever asking herself what she truly wants. With her children grown and her marriage crumbling, she rents a remote cabin in France to reflect on her life and figure out what comes next. Initially regretting her decision as the solitude forces her to confront painful truths about her family’s struggles, Wendy begins to unravel the story she’s been telling herself for years. Just when she feels at her lowest, unexpected support helps her realise that this is not the end of her story—it’s a new beginning.
Katie Vaughn faces career trouble and a romantic dilemma when she’s offered a shot at profiling Coast Guard rescue swimmer Tom “Hutch” Hutcheson in Key West—despite not knowing how to swim. To make things more complicated, Hutch is her coworker Cole’s estranged brother. As Katie navigates swim lessons, helicopter flights, and hurricanes, she finds herself drawn to Hutch despite his guarded heart. With the help of Hutch’s eccentric Aunt Rue and his loyal Great Dane, Katie must confront her fears, untangle her lies, and decide if she’s ready to take a real chance on love.
From The Library:
Aurora York’s life falls apart after the sudden loss of her parents, leaving her lonely and adrift as a public meltdown threatens her career. When a DNA test reveals a blood relative in Sicily, Aurora leaps at the chance to connect with her roots. Welcomed by a vibrant, tradition-rich family, she begins to heal amidst their warmth, her social media fame intriguing the younger generation, and her grandparents offering a different perspective. As she grows closer to a charming Italian man, Aurora starts to rediscover herself, but when a new opportunity pulls her back to the U.S., she must decide whether to return to her old life or embrace a fresh start in Sicily.
From Audible:
Beth is proud of her Malibu sandwich shop and even prouder of her brother Rick, a surgical resident who rose from foster care to success. Life seems perfect when Rick starts dating her best friend, Jana, and sparks fly between Beth and Jana’s brother. But Beth’s happiness shatters when she catches Rick cheating. Now, she’s torn between protecting her brother or revealing the truth, risking her relationships with Jana and the man she loves. In this emotional and witty story, Beth must navigate love, loyalty, and betrayal to decide how far she’s willing to go for family.
What I’m Watching:
I’m excited to watch Wicked this weekend on Prime. This pop musical stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande whose characters become friends at the University of Oz. There is so much talent in this cast. Have you seen Wicked yet?

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
Even though I’m not a big romance reader, you have three books on your list that sound very good to me: The Love Haters; To Sicily with Love; and Where Do We Go From Here? I am fascinated especially with books in which characters reevaluate their lives, so I especially hope I’ll get a chance to read Where Do We Go From Here?
thathappyreader
I’m attracted to those types of stories as well Deb.
Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life
The Love Haters looks so cute!! It has been sort of gray and overcast and rainy a lot here lately as well. At least it is a good excuse to take time out with tea and a book!

That’s so true Erin.
