It’s time for Who Wears it Better in April 2025? In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book. In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK). Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently.
➡️ I’ve added voting buttons to each of the five challenges, so please cast your votes for all of them and I’ll do the same. I will share the final results in next month’s post. But first, let’s review the results of last month’s battles!

Our April Battles: (Polls close May 4)
The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits by Jennifer Weiner:

This book published earlier this week and has two very different covers based on publisher. I like both of these covers but prefer the William Morrow cover because of the background colour and the musical notes coming from the two women in profile.
A Secret Escape/Other People’s Summers by Sarah Morgan:

This is a battle by region for the same book which differs not only by cover but by title. I love both of these covers and the decision for me was difficult. I loved the colours used in the U.K. cover but also love the detail in the U.S. cover. After much deliberation, my choice is the U.S. cover.
Kate & Frida by Kim Fay:

This battle between publishers features two very different covers. The G.P. Putnam’s Sons cover features food and drink while the Center Point cover features books. I love the colours used in the G.P. Putnam’s Sons cover and it is my choice in this battle.
The Sirens by Emilia Hart:

There are many different covers for this book so I encourage you to check them all out on Goodreads (click on either of these covers to take you there). I’ve chosen two here for this current GMA book club pick. I like both of these covers, but one is calling me more: The Borough Press cover for the colours chosen and the use of scales on the cover.
The View From Lake Como by Adriana Trigiana:

Our final battle of the month is between two different publishers from different regions with different covers of the same book. Both feature a woman on a boat on Lake Como with amazing views of the shoreline (I have been lucky enough to have this view myself). I like each of these covers but the Penguin cover calls me more for the colours used and the serenity I feel looking at it.
So there you have it – Who Wears it Better in April 2025? I’d love to know which covers you prefer, so please vote to let me know! Looking for more covers to compare? Thanks Jonetta!
ER LeVar
The St. Martins cover for The Sirens also comes with some incredible stenciled edges! It really is one of the most beautiful books I’ve seen in a while.
