It’s time for Who Wears it Better? December 2022 ! In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book. In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK). Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently. You can click on the book covers to read my review of each book when available. Let’s go!
All I Want For Christmas by Maggie Knox
Each of these covers are fun and colourful! I like the addition of a dog in the October cityscape cover. The December cover is in Christmas red and shows a couple playing music and singing. I prefer the October cover for all the detail in the cover.
Something From Tiffany’s/A Gift From Tiffany’s by Melissa Hill
This book was originally published in 2011 under the title Something From Tiffany’s in 2011. The title was changed in 2012 to A Gift From Tiffany’s. Here are four different covers including the movie tie-in kindle cover. I noticed the 2011 cover indicated “because every girl deserves…” while the October 2022 paperback cover is more inclusive with “because everyone deserves”. My favourite cover? The nod to Tiffany’s store in the 2011 hardcover.
The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb
Two completely different covers for the same book. While I haven’t read this book, it would seem to me that the Anchor Books cover would be a better representation of the title. Having said that, I prefer the Vintage cover for the vibrant colours used.
The Matzah Ball by Jean Meltzer
Two covers both with a couple on the cover. This book celebrates Hanukkah and the MIRA cover reflects this while the Piatkus cover only mentions it in written form. My preference is the MIRA cover.
The Man I Never Met by Elle Cook
Two cute covers that are different from one another. I like the Penguin versions choice of colours and font while the Dell cover shows the couple being from different parts of the world. This decision is a difficult one but because of my love of travel my choice is the Dell cover.

Amanda Kay Oaks
I’ve never seen a lot of these covers! I really don’t care for the red cover for All I Want for Christmas. I think I agree with you on all of them this time around!

Her Digital Coffee
Ooo another fun one! I like the October cover for Maggie Knox, 2012 from Melissa Hill, Anchor Books for Brenda Slocumb, MIRA for Jean Meltzer, and Dell for Elle Cook. Thank you for sharing Jodie! I hope you have a great weekend!

Wendy Williams
I love this post and look forward to it every month. A dog on a cover ALWAYS wins in my book! LOL. Usually, I’m not too fond of movie tie-in covers, but I can see why publishers make them. And thanks for reminding me I need to watch Something From Tiffany’s!

Lucy @ Lucy Knows Things
I like the comparison of the covers, and liked the same ones as you except for the Tiffany’s cover. I prefer the Oct2022 paperback 🙂.

Thanks for reading Aimsy!
Kal @ Reader Voracious
What a fun post idea, and it is truly jarring sometimes to see different cover designs or titles! People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry is called You and Me on Vacation in the UK with a different cover and I spent more time than I care to admit confused.

Yes I’ve featured those covers previously Kal! I have had to catch myself from reading the same book again! Thanks for reading!
Rolé @ Hooked By That Book
Ooh, my choices would be the October cover for All I Want For Christmas, the October cover for Something from Tiffany’s, the Anchor Books cover for The Violin Conspiracy, MIRA cover for The Matzah Ball, Dell cover for The Man I Never Met – I have this one on hold at the library.

Thank you for letting me know your thought on these covers Rolé! I hope you enjoy The Man I Never Met!
Carla
Great post, Jodie. I like all your choices. I am not a big fan of movie tie in covers. I have not read the Tiffany book, but I watched the movie just the other day and really liked it.

Thanks Carla! I’m glad you enjoyed the movie too.
