It’s time for Who Wears it Better in February 2024? In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book. In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK). Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently. You can click on the book covers to read my review of each book when available. Let’s go!
The Last Summer at Chelsea Beach by Pam Jenoff:
Our first book to look at this month is an example of a book with not only two different covers, but two different titles. Both reflect the book’s historical fiction genre but that is where the books similarities stop. While I like each of these covers, I prefer the Kindle cover because of that beautiful red coat and hat.
The Summer Swap by Sarah Morgan:
The Summer Swap is publishing in May and is an example of two different covers reflecting marketing to two different regions. I like each of these covers – the UK cover for the bright pink background and the US cover for the level of detail and watercolour vibe. My choice is the US cover because I find it more interesting to look at.
The Castaways by Elin Hilderbrand:
There are actually 50 editions of this book which was first published in 2007 but I’ve chosen these two. The Kindle edition has a woman in a sundress walking along a beach. The Hardcover edition has a couple lying on the beach. While I like each of these covers, the Kindle cover appeals more to me because of its ethereal quality.
Lone Wolf by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz:
Here is an example of two different cover that elicit two different responses from me. The Penguin cover looks creepy and reflects that the book is a thriller. The Minotaur books cover on the other hand looks quite placid and beautiful – I love the colours chosen. Given that the book is a thriller, I choose the Penguin cover.
The Resort by Sara Ochs:
Here is yet another example with two different covers and two different titles for the same book. They book suggest a tropical setting but this is where the similarities stop. I like both of these covers and the colours chosen and I find these covers to be the most difficult to choose from this month. Based on the book’s synopsis, my choice is the Bantam cover and title.
So that’s Who Wears it Better in February 2024? I’d love to know which covers you prefer, so please let me know in the comments. I appreciate you reading and supporting this blog and hope that you have a wonderful day!

1. The Jenoff book: absolute tie for me. They’re both lovely.
2.The Summer Swap: I’m a sucker for the type of illustrated cover shown in the US version
3. Lone Wolf: Because I love the series and the character, the US version works better for me. The other one just doesn’t look like Evan.
4. Loving that Bantam covet for a gazillion reasons💜
Great post, as usual!

These are always so fun! I like the paperback for Last Embrace, US cover for Summer Swap, Hardcover for Castaways, Minotaur for Lone Wolf, and Bantam for Dive. It was interesting to see two books with not only different covers but titles too! Thank you for sharing Jodie, these are always a blast to check out.
