Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s time for Who Wears it Better in February 2025? In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book.  In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK).  Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently. Â
➡️ I’ve added voting buttons to each of the five challenges, so please cast your votes for all of them and I’ll do the same. I will share the final results in next month’s post. But first, let’s review the results of last month’s battles!

We had a tie for The Three Lives of Cate Kay! And now onto…
Our February Battles: (Polls close March 9)
Homeseeking by Karissa Chen:

Our first battle is for two covers from two different publishers. There is not a lot similarities between these two covers and I haven’t read this book so I’m basing my decision purely on aesthetic. While I’m attracted to both of these covers my vote goes to Sceptre for the reference to its Shanghai setting in the earlier time period of this book.
Nobody’s Fool by Harlan Coben:

Our next battle is for two covers from two different publishers. The Penguin cover uses primarily orange and white while the Grand Central Publishing cover uses blues, greens and yellow. This thriller is on my reading list and it will be interesting to see if my choice of cover changes after I’ve read it. My choice of cover right now is the Grand Central Publishing cover as the Penguin cover simply has overdone the orange in my opinion.
We All Live Here by Jojo Moyes:

This battle features two similar covers. The Penguin cover uses teal as its background colour while the Pamela Dorman Books cover has more of a neutral background. Both express trees framing the book’s title. I really like both of these covers and it’s a difficult choice for me but my choice is the Pamela Dorman Books cover as it has a bit more interest in the artwork.
The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin:

Here is an example of two covers not only representing different publishers, but also different regions. The Harper cover from the U.S. has a lot of visual interest with the use of yellow roses against a deep blue and teal background. The Transworld Digital cover from the U.K. uses a white cover with marbled dots of various colours. I like them both but my choice is the Harper cover because it has more visual interest for me.
Listen To Your Sister by Neena Viel:

In this final battle for February we once again have two very different covers representing different publishers and regions. The St. Martin’s Griffin cover from the U.S. shows the silhouette of a house at the end of a path against a colourful night sky. The Titan Books from the U.K. shows a black woman who has either blood or tears running from one eye against a red background. There is also a glimpse into a setting in the “T” of the word Listen. I haven’t read this book which falls under the horror genre but my choice is based on this information. The St Martin’s Griffin cover is pretty but the Titan Books cover reflects the genre more in my opinion.
So there you have it – Who Wears it Better in February 2025? I’d love to know which covers you prefer, so please vote to let me know! Looking for more covers to compare? Other Recent Editions of Who Wears it Better?

ER LeVar
The Titan cover for Listen to Your Sister is much more interesting to me! The other looks like generic thriller-bordering-on-horror to me.

Veros @ Dark Shelf of Wonders
I love these types of posts they’re so fun!
I haven’t read any of these so I went by vibes 100%,no clue how each cover represents the book. For Home seeking I voted for Sceptre even though I really dislike that font because the other option has a colour palette that does nothing for me.

Thanks for voting Veros!

I think I liked the second one best for all except the One Hundred Years one. Fun post as always!
