It’s time for Who Wears it Better in November 2024? In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book. In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK). Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently. You can click on the book covers to read my review of each book when available.
➡️ I’ve added voting buttons to each of the five challenges, so please cast your votes for all of them and I’ll do the same. I will share the final results in next month’s post. But first, let’s review the results of last month’s battles!
You may have noticed that we had a tie between the two covers for The December Market!
November Battles:
Kiss Me At Christmas by Jenny Bayliss:
These are two very different covers of the same book. The Penguin cover is from the U.K. and uses soft pastel colours while the G.P. Putnam’s Sons is from the U.S. and uses brighter colours. While the U.S. cover reflects the content of the book more, I’m not a fan of orange book covers. For this reason I choose the Penguin cover.
The Blue Hour by Paula Hawkins:
While there are similarities between these two covers there are also differences. I haven’t read this book but I’m more attracted to the Mariner Books cover for the open window looking out at the ocean.
This Motherless Land by Nikki May:
Here is another example of two very different covers. The colours, font and image chosen are distinct and both beautiful. I haven’t read this book but I’m more attracted to the Doubleday cover. Therefore it is my choice of cover in this battle.
Three Days In June by Anne Tyler:
This is another regional battle of the covers for this upcoming Anne Tyler book. These covers could not be much more different from one another with the UK cover choosing a more whimsical, brightly coloured cover than its US counterpart. This was a difficult decision to me as neither cover particularly draws me in but my choice is the UK cover as it looks different than many other covers.
Window Shopping by Tessa Bailey:
Our final battle this month features different covers from different publishers. The Avon cover shows a couple through a store window, while the Piatkus cover has the opposite perspective of outside the window looking inwards. I appreciate seeing the couple on the cover and therefore the Avon cover is my choice.
So there you have it – Who Wears it Better in November 2024? I’d love to know which covers you prefer, so please vote to let me know! Looking for more covers to compare? Oh, I always enjoy voting on the covers. My daughter is in the hospital, she was diagnosed with serotonin syndrome on Wednesday. I had to have her taken in by ambulance. I just wanted to let you know I will be MIA the rest of today and Saturday, so I may miss commenting. I hope you and hubby have a fantastic weekend, Jodie!

Thanks Winnie!

I can’t wait to see which ones win. I have only read 1 of these books so it makes it harder to decide.

I go by appearances alone – what draws me in when I haven’t read the book Carla!
