Hi everyone! It’s time for Who Wears It Better May 2022 edition! In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book. In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK). Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently. You can click on the book covers to read my review of each book when available. Let’s go!
The Change by Kirsten Miller
I think both of these covers are beautiful. I love all the colours in each of these covers but give a slight edge to the HQ cover because of the intrigue I feel to read the book.
Memphis by Tara M. Stringfellow
I appreciate the graphics in both of these books. I’m attracted more to the bright colours used in The Dial Press cover and therefore choose this one.
Book Lovers by Emily Henry
I am attracted to both of these covers. The graphics and colours used are beautiful. If I have to choose one it would be the Penguin UK cover which has a little bit about the book on its cover and uses more colour.
The Lies I Tell by Julie Clark
These covers are very different from one another. Both covers give me a sense of intrigue. The hardcover’s graphics are more appealing to me, but the red in the kindle cover is my colour choice. If I have to make a choice I choose the hardcover.
The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill
We have three choices on this cover. Note the title change which came later in the same year the book was published (2007). The middle cover arrived in 2015 when the mini-series was filmed and the same publisher changed the name back to The Book of Negroes. Each of these covers are beautiful but my preference is the original HarperCollins cover.
So that’s Who Wears it Better- May 2022 edition! I’d love to know which covers you prefer, so please let me know in the comments. I appreciate you reading and supporting this blog and hope that you have a wonderful day. ☺️

The HQ cover of The Change reminds me of another book, although I can’t think which one. Maybe it just reminds me of The Lion King stage show 🤔

I love these posts! It’s always great seeing another interpretation of a book cover. I love William Morrow’s cover of The Change, The Dial Press cover for Memphis, can’t choose between Book Lovers, Hardcover edition for The Lies, and love W.W Norton’s cover for The Book of Negroes. Thank you for sharing!

For The Change by Kirsten Miller they look like completely different books!! I agree with you about Book Lovers, I like that the UK version shows more about what the book is about.
