Hi everyone! It’s time for Who Wears It Better November 2021 edition! In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book. In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK). Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently. You can click on the book covers to read my review.
I adore both these covers, but I give a slight edge to the UK version which is a bit more whimsical.
Add The Christmas Escape to your Goodreads shelf
This one is a little tricky for me because if I’m honest I don’t find either of these really that appealing. Notice the difference in the title. I’d give the edge to the UK cover because I’m attracted to blue covers.
Add this book to your Goodreads shelf
I love both of these covers but I’m giving the edge to the US cover because of the dog and the beautiful entryway.
Add Dear Santa to your Goodreads shelf
I love both of these blue covers but hands down the US cover wins this round for me. In fact it’s one of my favourite covers of 2021 and really gives this book the magical feel it so deserves.
Add On a Night Like This to your Goodreads shelf
I haven’t read this book yet but wanted to share the diversity in these two. I really like them both – the UK cover because of the colours chosen and the US cover because it looks like a piece of mail. This one’s a draw for me.
Add Always, In December to your Goodreads shelf
So that’s Who Wears it Better November 2021 edition! I’d love to know which covers you prefer, so please let me know in the comments. I really appreciate you reading and supporting this blog and hope that you have a wonderful day.☺️

This was such a fun post! For the most part, I agree with all of your choices (except for “the Paris connection” – I love the US version 🙂

I’m glad you enjoyed it Faye! Thanks for reading!
Wendy Williams
Great choices. I do disagree with you on The Christmas Escape, I like the US cover slightly more than the UK cover. I do agree 100% with the choice of the US cover for On a Night Like This. It was such a magical book, and the US cover is much more representative of the story

Amazing idea, definitely judging the book by the covers..

Katie
This is such a fun blog post idea! I love the comparison between covers and I think I agree with most of your assessments. I think I prefer the US version of “Always in December” though, but it IS very close.

Not-So-Modern-Girl
I love this post idea! I always compare covers, and I judge books by their covers far too much. Fantastic post x

Overall the UK covers are better, except for Dear Santa.

Such a fun post, Jodie! I have to say that the UK covers have the edge for me, although I know you shouldn’t judge a book by the cover, haha! Interesting that the titles are different in some instances too 🙂

Thanks for reading Lisa!
Stephanie
I’m almost always a bigger fan of the UK covers (and titles) for books, but I was surprised to see that I really liked the US versions for most of these (aside from The Christmas Escape and On a Night Like This)! Such a fun post 🙂

Molly @ Transatlantic Notes
Book covers are so important — and it shows when you put things side by side as I definitely have a preference for one over the other in most of the examples you shared. This was really interesting; the whole process of deciding what to put on a cover is probably way more complex than I thought. Thanks for sharing!

That’s so true Molly! I would love to find out the process. Thanks for reading.
Jenny in Neverland
Ooh great post! I was drawn to most of the UK covers the most, apart from Lindsey Kelk, that US one for me there!

I love this series! I think overall I like the US covers better, apart from Dear Santa. The UK version wins that round 🙂 x
