It’s time for Who Wears it Better? September 2022 edition! In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book. In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK). Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently. You can click on the book covers to read my review of each book when available. Let’s go!
*Clicking on the cover will take you to my review if available or to Goodreads
The Best is Yet to Come by Debbie Macomber:
I like both of these covers but for different reasons. The UK version is shows a couple holding each other and is more whimsical. The US version is more elegant and is more like a photograph. I give a slight edge to the UK cover because there is a dog swimming in the photo!
The Tuesday Night Survivor’s Club by Lynn Cahoon:
I appreciate the colours used in both of these versions. Both of these covers are fairly simplistic, but I like the paperback version a little more because of the addition of the bookshelf.
Snowed in for Christmas by Sarah Morgan:
I love both of these covers – as well as the book inside! The UK cover has the cute cutaway so we can see what is happening inside. The US cover has that gorgeous blue and snow on the bushes that make me want to grab a cup of cocoa and stay cozy inside. If I have to pick one I choose the UK cover.
Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister:
These covers are both very different from one another. I love the colours used in the UK cover , but the US cover has more of a suspenseful feel to it. Given this is a thriller, I choose the US cover for this reason.
Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Jenny Bayliss:
These two covers are also both very different from one another. In the UK cover, the couple is kissing. In the US cover, the couple are facing away from each other and there looks like some sort of a map of the cover. I love the affection displayed in the UK cover and so I choose that one.

These posts are always so much fun! I definitely agree with you on most of your choices this month, though I do think I lke the U.S. cover of Meet Me Under the MIstletoe a bit better just because it feels more colorful and cheerful to me.

Carla
Great post Jodie. I agree, these were hard to choose between. I have not read them all, which makes it hard for me to choose as I don’t know if the covers match the story, but based on looking to see which covers would have me reaching for the book to find out more, I would choose: US, Audiobook, UK, US, and neither would have me pick up the book.
